IMO, American Dad is Family Guy's sickly, defective twin. It's basically the same thing, but not as funny. Some people apparently like it, but I'll stick with good ol' Family Guy.

My biggest problem with the show is the stiffness of the poses, like the way their arms are held tightly aside their bodies when they are in their default pose.

A lot better than Family Guy. Actually has an interesting plot and character development. Also the episodes have morals, something FG hasnt ever really been able to do well.......It seems to be getting better season by season. :)

Anyone can get the jokes as the majority of them relate to the plot, FG on the other hand has just a bunch of 80s refrences that only some will get. This show definitely has more purpose, yet somehow its getting far less attention than Family Guy, which bothers me.

I enjoyed the James Woods episodes because it showed how Brian felt left out and was jealous of James. Just with the newer episodes I feel its all about the laughs and gags more than everything, rather than carrying out a plot of actually having a purpose. I remember when Roger was upset over Steve and him drifting apart and sang a song about it. In the song I recal there being a clip about Roger being Steve's birthday present or something. I've always wondered how that fit with the whole Roger escaping from Area 51 thing. They could really make a plot about that. Like maybe Stan found it more appropriate introducing Roger as a birthday present so the family would be hard pressed to let him go? (steve getting attached to him and all). They should explore more about it in the future, and I hope they do, since it is a majour focal point in the show. Being Rogers past and how he got to be where he is now.

It's a lot better. It relies on a plot as opposed to cutaway gags, and the characters are much more interesting and appealing. Its a lot funnier too. lol

Not as of yet, no. I've looked up season 7 and nothing is revealed yet. Though not all hope is lost. American Dad comic con is over the weekend, and I know some info will be explained about season 7 during that time (a think a trailer too), so hopefully someone tapes it and puts it up online so we can see for ourselves. :)

I've been watching this show, in order, on Netflix. The bad thing about this is it doesn't have season 6, probably because that season isn't out on DVD. But anyway, I am really excited for the new season to start. American Dad! is probably my favorite animated show on Fox

Same here. The Simpsons isn't great now and Family Guy sucks. Cleveland show has always been horrible, but Bob's Burgers on the other hand is pretty good.
