I am trying to compile a list of TV Shows I want to "get on DVD." What are some must have tv shows that you think I should have? I already have a small list going but am looking for more.

And they can be anything, new or old (like old as in 90s, not too much earlier, unless it's amazing). :)

The big bang theory is quite funny, not your usual sitcom. Firefly, Battlestar galactica, terminator SCC, DR WHO are all great sci fi shows.

I especially like The Office and Invader Zim on there, but Zim's hard to find on DVD, or so I heard.

Yeah I've read a little of that YEARS ago. I might have to look it up. And about Invader Zim on DVD...I'll find my own "DVDs" ;) I can guarantee that most of these series aren't on DVD :)

I saw Kenan & Kel on YouTube the other night, that was cool.
I haven't seen that in years.
Also Pushing Daisies, that show is just awsome.

Lost
Simpsons
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Drawn Together
The Oblongs
Beavis and Butthead
Invader Zim
Ren and Stimpy
Rocko's Modern Life
Reno 911
Weeds
South Park

yes

and if you like obsevational humor i also suggest you watch Arrested Development, Seinfeld and maybe 30 Rock. Dexter would also be a good call, a serial killer was never so likeable.

and if you're going to get the simpsons, I suggest anything pre-season 10, speacially season 6 which is my personal favorite. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is great all the way throw, but season 2 is the best one. the first seasons of Weed, Lost and 24 are a must-watch.

and also, I know it's old but for god sakes get the twilight zone. the best twilight zone episodes are THE BEST television shows you'll ever find.

Harvey Birdman
Aqua Teen
Robot Chicken
Malcom in the Middle
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
Whose Line Is It Anyway
Drew Carey Show
Operation Repo
Beetle Borgs
VR Troopers

I don't know enough about these shows to say they are bad, but I haven't heard nothing but bad review from most of them.

Heroes
Family Guy

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

well, actually to be completely honest the first season of Heroes is decent and the first three seasons of family guy are good, but besides that it's pure garbage.

well, if we're making lists...

Simpsons (missing one disc of season 3! :cursing:)
Dexter
Arrested Development
Futurama
House
24 (seasons 1-5)
Lost
Seinfeld (seasons 1-4, getting the rest soon)
The Wire (bought the complete series at once and watched it over a period of four days. so good)

i would also have It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Draw Together if they were sold here.

also, good call on Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life. Nickelodeon on the 90's were full of win. Planning on getting those on dvd soon.

Yoshirama

roadrunner is funny and scobby doo.

Black Smoke Monster
27-01-2010, 03:09 AM
Lost (the quintessential show, in my opinion nothing else even comes close. Yes I sound like a pretentious wanking saying this but ah well.)

Other shows I'd consider watching are:
24
Prison Break
Dexter
House M.D
Fringe
Lie to Me
The Mentalist
Californication
True Blood
The Office
Scrubs
Bored to Death
Human Target
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Harper's Island
Modern Family
Burn Notice

I'd recommend avoiding:

Flashforward
Heroes (post season 1)
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives

But really most of what I watch is just filler TV until Lost returns. I'm still trying to find a successor for the show when it ends this year. I haven't been successful so far.

oh f*** you google chrome!

Lol thats what nortan does to me. It pops up while i am typing.....

NovaMist

I'd recommend:

The X Files (seasons 3-7 in particular)
Doctor Who
Torchwood (has it moments)
House MD
Supernatural

I'd recommend avoiding:

Flashforward
Heroes (post season 1)
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives

I don't know enough about Heroes or DH, but FlashForward, Ugly Betty and Grey's all started off well, and then fell in a bit of a heap. I think Grey's picked up again somewhat, from the little of it I've seen. The others, I don't know.

oh f*** you google chrome!

im not typing my whole damn argument for Heroes again...

I hate it when that happens! :cursing:

I'd recommend avoiding:

Flashforward
Heroes (post season 1)
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives started off great, the first season was really well done. Then from there it got worse and worse and is now unbelievably crap.

I like Ugly Betty though, but the first season was by far the best

KING ZOIDY

yes, retro cartoons are great, I've wished for Rocko's Modern Life to come out on VHS as a child, and I would buy that if it came out on DVD. It's something about that, Aaargh Real Monsters!, Johnny Bravo ect... That were classic and marked an Era of televison that I think was GREAT.
