Far Side

Are any members fans of 'The Far Side' by Gary Larson? I sure am, and if you wanna discuss any of his cartoons...or talk about your favorite ones just start posting away!!

Heh, when I was a kid one of my friends had a Far Side book in his bathroom....oh, the fun! The only one I can remember now is the famous "School for the Gifted" cartoon, but the cow cartoons were always good too.

Thanks for answering bd...his sense of humor is twisted like mine!! Did you know Gary Larson retired to learn to play acoustic guitar on a whim.....whims are fun if you have tons of loot, I guess!

I didn't know that! I once bought a guitar on a whim, still don't know how to play it. That was almost three years ago.

Yeah, I have an electric guitar and a GREAT old tube amp one of my ex-girlfriends' daughter gave me , and I suck on it....I play piano mostly ( a little...classical )...and all I can do is bother the neighbors mostly.....so far!

That sounds like me on my violin! Used to be pretty good, but then I stopped playing and now I suck on ice.

Anyway, Gary Larson...Far Side...hope this shows up okay!

Good one! Can barely make it out....but I got it anyway!
I've got the Far Side collection....two GIANT books in a slipcase with EVERY cartoon he ever did in it!! It's expensive, but worth it!

BTW...violin rocks! Alegro Non Molto ( winter...Vivaldi ) affects me just like Jimmy Page on guitar.......PLAY IT LOUD!!

The Bears in the cave one with the skulls is my personal favourite. Laughed a lot first time I saw and it still raises a chuckle now.

anyways, yes when i was alot younger and our schools had book clubs i used to buy a far side book every year. i have the lot of them someplace packed away.

I bough as many as I could find of the Far Side books when Mike(son) was really loving that series of humorous stories! We would laugh at them almost as much as Garfield!
