View Full Version : Planet express ship...
HEY....has anybody ever seen a Planet Express ship offered as a toy...hopefully in metal? If so...where? I know where to get a Zapp Branigan toy gun, but a Futurama rocket ship would be SOOO COOL!!

I've seen the little one before...I was hoping for a LARGE tin one...ya know Japanese production...6-12 inches...that would be cool ( as previously stated by Gort )

they've only come out with the small ship, no big ship and it's super rare at this point so if you see one i suggest picking it up. the horrible gelatonus blob with the professor inside is another one that's UBER rare but man, it's such i cool toy, it goes Squish! lol it's probably my favorite one.
i was supposed to get a windup nibbler, the really big ones, but never got around to giving the comic guy money so he eventually sold it. ah well.

21-10-2007, 08:56 PM
have u seen the way they've merchandised family guy
The Illusive Man
21-10-2007, 09:12 PM
Yup,it's exploded into merchandise, if Futurama was done by Hasbro then it would have greater mainstream success, like the Star Wars line.
JetGirl
21-10-2007, 09:14 PM
but at least the company that's doing it now is making really good quality toys
hoopymo
21-10-2007, 09:15 PM
yeh but there not really out there compared to hasbro
The Illusive Man
21-10-2007, 09:16 PM

Cloverfield
22-10-2007, 11:38 AM

Was just about to say the same thing. But if i recall correctly, you did actually laugh at that jedi.
The Illusive Man
23-10-2007, 12:00 AM
Mildly, but not a proper laugh which i was expecting the movie to be like.
hoopymo
23-10-2007, 12:10 AM

The Illusive Man
23-10-2007, 12:12 AM
Hell yeah, just got boring towards the end anyway
hoopymo
23-10-2007, 12:18 AM
it was a predictable story plus why was arnold swarchenegger drawn as rainer wolfecastle guy
The Illusive Man
23-10-2007, 12:22 AM
Because they both have similar accents, and rainer wolfecastle was meant to be arnold schwarzenegger.
hoopymo
23-10-2007, 12:25 AM
yeah but it just sucked doing that, plus the simpsons is terrible at drawing real people
The Illusive Man
23-10-2007, 10:46 AM
Their ok at drawing people but it was a good move putting wolfecastle as Schwarzenegger.
Cloverfield
23-10-2007, 12:48 PM
Yer, it was very similar and worked well i think.
The Illusive Man
23-10-2007, 02:22 PM

i was wondering if they were ever planning on making figures of the kids, i'm not too keen on them so i wouldnt' be that unhappy if they decided not to
The Illusive Man
30-10-2007, 09:04 PM
The kids might be made, as there featured a bit.

sort of like how they did the talking simpson playsets? those things rocked. my friend has every single one that came out. along with every single figure
The Illusive Man
02-11-2007, 07:30 PM
Hmmm, wonder if playsets would be made for Futurama.
hoopymo
02-11-2007, 08:17 PM
depends a new series first then the popularity may convince them to make playsets
The Illusive Man
02-11-2007, 08:21 PM
Maybe, playsets are expensive to make so only a few may be made if not at all.
hoopymo
02-11-2007, 08:23 PM
how much do they usually cost?
The Illusive Man
02-11-2007, 08:33 PM
Don't really know, companies tend not to give stuff out like that.

I've seen a model of the Planet Express Ship that you put together yourself that's pretty awesome. It's on a stand and everything and looks really great...problem is, the site that has it says it's out of stock. :)

28-01-2008, 12:00 PM
Yeah that model kit is ultra rare. I always hoped to get one someday, but after I came across this photo, it's not in my wish list anymore. Cause I realized the nose of the ship is too sharp and narrow when compared to MAC's model (which is more accurate to the series). Of course in spite of that one inaccuracy the model kit still looks pretty good.

Hopefully Toynami or some other die cast model company would make a bigger and more accurate model of the Planet Express ship in the years to come.

Yeesh...I didn't realize how inaccurate it was.
