All shows on there are crap apart from Top Gear.
I hate the fact that iam forced to pay a license fee that goes to bbc when i dont even watch the shows on it (apart from top gear) Why should i have to pay for shite such as bargain hunt or eastenders?

25-07-2009, 04:57 PM
I heard people outside London tend to not watch Eastenders.
I wonder/half know already that the BBC will have coverage for the 2012 Olympics.
They pay for big names to appear on their shows, from Michael Jackson to The Royal Family ect... the BBC have interviewed almost Everybody! - those aren't free, that's where your license money goes.

Exactly! Thats where alot of the money goes, intervueing people i dont plan to listen to. So why should i pay for it?

well before you said you hadnt' even heard of the other ones so to say they are poor is a rather odd statement to make. personally i think the young ones was a great show along with Are you being served? and Doctor Who :)
the rest in that last i've never heard of, aside from red dwarf but have never seen it myself.

Iv grown up with having to watch the BBC my whole life, and generally all the shows on it are poor, and to me every old english show is just crap. And i dont like that my tv license money goes towards poor shows

This Wheel's on Fire" is a song written by Bob Dylan and Rick Danko. It was recorded by Dylan and The Band during their legendary 1967 sessions, portions of which (including this song) comprised the 1975 album The Basement Tapes. The Band's own version appeared on their 1968 album Music From Big Pink.
In 1968, a version by Julie Driscoll with Brian Auger and The Trinity became a hit in the United Kingdom. It peaked at number five on the UK singles chart. With its use of distortion, the imagery of the title and the group's flamboyant dress and performance, this version came to represent the psychedelic era in British music. Driscoll recorded the song again in the early 1990s with Adrian Edmondson (Vyvyan from The Young Ones!) as the theme to the BBC comedy series Absolutely Fabulous, whose main characters are throwbacks to that era.
In 1987, the song was covered by English rock band Siouxsie & the Banshees for their all-covers album, Through the Looking Glass. Released as the first single from that album, the Banshees' version climbed to number fourteen on the UK singles chart.
Other artists who have released their own versions, include The Byrds, Hamilton Camp, Phil Lesh, Golden Earring, The Hollies, Ian and Sylvia, Les Fradkin, Leslie West, Serena Ryder, and Guster.
