I'm gonna start writing about guitars, feel free to join in! :D
Am listening to Vernon Reid right now, well Living Colour - Cult of Personality, but, it's on the solo and i'm just admireing his sound.
Sound like Di Marzio to me, I don't know though.
Like it though :D
I like guitar :D lol
I am scared though! lol
like, I might not be a metal player.
Practise does make perfect, but, on the fly, I think i'm a blues guiatrist at heart, or classic rock.
Which sucks as I do like playing some Metallica.
But I may not be a Metal Player. :(
I was playing along to my friends Metallica selections on Youtube and I was struggleing to find the right note, single note playing, and that's just not right.
lol, I know different tuning and all, and I had 2 guitars 'on the go' out of the 10 that are just here, one in E and one in E Flat (D#
But,in E, he played some old school blues, to rock to Jimi Hendrix, like, a progression of it all, I had it all pretty much down under my little finger,j/k, but, I was running rings around them, guitar soloey wise.
until it got up to Hendrix, than I began to look for notes again. :P
Hendrix has a thing called a Hendrix chord, I was looking for some of those.
I couldplay Guns N' Roses whislt singing along, thats how confident I am of pulling that off.l

THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
Lol, substance abuse, darn pot head me.
was playing Sim City on Snes :P and, something in me just clicked and all I could think about was THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
Now, when I say I could not think about anything else, I had some strange thought of, What the hell THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA! is, or was, and was it something I heard on TV once?
I don't know, but, for some unknown reason, me trying toplace this THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
almost drove me more nuts than I already felt in the first place thinking of some random WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
So I just played guitar to some how hope to get my mind off THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
I like myself playing, I think I look cool, I like holding the guitar, almost throwing it around, well, all that exhitbition stuff kinda comes naturally to me, so me trying to do something just looks like the sex! lol
Anyways, I wanted to save my sanity, so I jumped for my fave guitar, just now, and, wrote some really wild guitar peice, infront of the mirror LMAO. But I liked my technique, the sound, the timing, the way how it made me feel, I just wrote something, totally freakily inspired called THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!!!
I might YouTube it.
I sure hope that this has nothing to do with Ouija boards, lol, some spooky stuff has happened in this house these past 2 days, I just hope theres nothing, if anything, out to get me in here (this room) but f**k them if there is anything to f**k because I just jumped for my guitar and wrote something awsome! - Not that I'm saying there is anything supernatural about it, I just could not for the life of me stop thinking WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA! or VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJA!
... I must admit, even for me though, that was odd.

I spend my money on weed and guitar... sometimes that's not a good combo.
Though I have my fun j/k
I want a Gibson Les Paul, from the Custom Shop.
I feel playing on one of them will imrpove my guitar playing.
The weight & sustain and the craftman ship of that guitar.
I want an American one too!
I love Seymour Duncan
I have Di Marzio's too, and I want to mix & match with this one guitar I had an Original Floyd Rose trem put on.
I want to have Dimebag Darrels SH-13 put on to that guitar at the bridge, but use my Di Marzio X2N in the neck.
I have like 3 guitar projects I'm working on now.

But those, and acouple of others, are songs that I've learned ect...
(Watch this post, it may be edited should I think of anymore that I know how to play)
I've learned, learning, still tweeking NICKELBACK'S HOW YOU REMIND ME.
I even sing a long, there's like, 4 or 5 chords, and it's in drop D, and like, 2 ways of playing like 2 or 3 of the chords... I like it though.
Nickelback, fave Canadian rock band lol.
God I love guitar sometimes. :)
This is my twitter thread lol
MY LES PAUL!
My broken Epiphone Les Paul I purchsed off eBay with a broken neck, and a bent truss rod.
A replacement truss rod has been ordered!
I spoke to the guy yesterday. Hopefully that will fit my Les Paul project, and the guitar will play again.
I'm going to have it rebuilt to Slash Les Paul specifcation... ish'
Finger's crossed still that I don't have to bury that guitar.
(It's like a step under my ultimiate dream guitar, I figure, I get this fixed, and next step is to get in my dream guitar)
There's these things that I do latly, which is like a power chord minus the index finger, so it's the curse finger and 4th finger only, and also, 1 finger, like, your index finger power chords, which is like the same concept, musically, but, it's also good for a root note, I just like to hammer on from another 'broken power chord' (i'm calling 1st 2 finger power chord a broken power chord.) so, I'm playing these broken power chords, hammering on to one and pulling off the other, and vicer verser, I like to do that sometimes latly. Bending those are fun, and that the 1 finger power chord with your index could also apply to your 4th finger, one finger power chord way, if you wanna do some fast hammer ons and pull offs but also, I say is needed, if you ever want to bend one of them.
I thought i'd add that to this thing. :)
I want to have a guitar built for me.
I've decided.
I want to think about the long term.
It'll be like a Les Paul shape.
Arch topped, with something decent in the neck like mother of pearl or trapozoids that light up... HOPEFULLY. lol
My own design, of course, for the paint job. 'the guy doesn't build through peices, I'd try and get him to, or, take his advice for the greater good of the guitar's tone) lol
It'll cost me like £2, 000
but that's okay!
It'll take like 2 years to build anyways, and it'll be made in Croydon :D lol, so, I get to keep tabs on the progress of the guitar, as it's being built at no loss to me.
I can pay through a very fair and very personal payment plan, and 200 or 150 a month is cool with them, and it's cool with me.
I don't mind eating rice and pasta for a little while to save on my food budget lol
But i've made up my mind.
As soon as my current repair and restoration plus customisation of an Epiphone I am paying for is out of my hair and in to my house, i'd put in that order to finally have one built for me.
Can't wait, to be honest, and I've had the basic concept for what I want that, funny enough, I haven't budged on, ever!
Since I was 13 or so, so, I already know what I want, that's a huge plus for me.

This is what my CURRENT guitar project looked liked when I bought it in July 2009.
It's an Epiphone Les Paul that I have had repaired.
The truss rod was dented, it was a hassel getting it fixed, the break went through the neck to the broken fret board.
New machine heads were needed, I went for classic green key style.
I'm not sure if I've got Grover/Gotoh or who ever, I just know that the machine heads are new, of quality, and are vintage green key style.
The electronics;
I have a brand new 'American' toggle switch installed, and I also went for brand new, bigger Vol/Tone pots.
I've had a set of Seymour Duncan APH-1s installed (same pickups as guitarist Slash).
I've had the Jim Dunlop Straplock system installed, that I use on all my guitars.
I have been informed that my guitar is now in one peice and playing again with all my desired electronics and stuff installed, I've just got to pay for it and finalise the knob/selector switch colours.
I want like a pink/purple toggle switch for this Epiphone Les Paul, or... An amber one, like Slash's Sun Burst Les Paul.
Though I like his music and use the same pickups, I want to remain unique. :P
It is October 25th 2009.
I should have this guitar payed for by late November 2009.
I last saw this guitar in July 2009, I bought it off eBay as a broken guitar for spares or repair.
I will post pictures of it once I get it home.
The break in the neck, I have been told, does show a scar, and I might get the back of it repainted, but, I'd happily wait until 2010 for that.

I've just invented the 'Slideing Bend', or the Slide/Bend...
The move pretty much speaks for it self, but basically, you try to slide and bend at the same time, but I've found I slide to a bend, hence the term Slide/Bend or Slideing Bend...
I just wanted to write that here, incase I forget it :P

theres no better feeling than smashing a guitar into pieces.
i've done it well over 50 times, and it never gets old.
i too love the guitar, and play it.
i think it spawns from 4th grade when i took my violin and turned it the other way, and my teacher was like 'here try this, it's a guitar'. i caught on and started really playing when i was 12 or 13, i can't remember but it's been a awesome ride since.

it's the 2nd guitar I ever bought, which happened to be in the SAME week as the 1st, all those years ago.
It's the first guitar that I ever had fixed up and also the first ever guitar I had cutomised... Also the first guitar and only that the guy said was worth anything and has it's own museum in Germany lol

I want a Gisbon Les Paul or a Gibson SG Double Neck or Gibson Flying V... I like the Fender Stratocaster.
I love buying my own pickups and having them fitted into my guitar.
I learned that, to do a pickup justice, you have to change the electronics too, so that's volume/tone pots/switches/jacks ect...
Also, the wood of everything, includeing the fret board matters too, when it comes to pickups.

More of a bassist but I started on the guitar and i've still got my first two. First one I got when I was about 9, a Prince classical, then several years later an Encore strat copy. All my guitars have have been cheapies - I thought I bought an Epiphone 335/ dot. Turned out to be a fake. Funny thing was I knew the bloke who sold me it for £300. He didn't care. Bar Steward.
I love a good thrash now and again, just strumming to The Who or Queen. I'm always too clumsy and impatient for solos. I do like my blues though - Clapton is god! He's actually who got me in to playing the guitar. First song I learned to play properly was Tears in Heaven. Since then, I just learn what I want to. Or what I can be arsed to learn :)

the only strat i ever owned i thru of a three story building.
i came to the conclusion as i've grown older and started to appreciate guitars that pre-CBS fenders are the only way to go.
i'm not a fan of gibsons at all, they suck, too heavy..altho i would buy a SG..but only if it was a 60's or 70's version. i've grown to love martin acoustics and i would kill jesus christ himself for a martin d-18e. but right now i'm really diggin on fender mustangs and jaguars..i want one badly.

the last Jackson I played on I wanted, it was too easy, the neck was thin, the fret board was great, I started playing and I found it gave you what you wanted on a plate, and this was just after I was playing a Gibson les paul from this vintage guitar shop across the street... I love the feleing of the Jackson, but it was too easy, I like how the Gibsons make you play, for real, I could play on this Jackson in my sleep, that's how mind boggleing user friendly it was.
If I could afford it, I'd have it, but, it really does give it to you on a plate.
I think both guitars were cool though, I got love for my old school Les Pauls, but only the ones with dual humbuckers, p-90s can go to hell. :)

08-07-2010, 12:39 AM
the les paul has just always been awkward for me, and it's weight is a huge issue too.
it does make you play compared to any other guitar but it's just the action of it and the floating bridge screw me up all the time.
ilovebender.com
08-07-2010, 12:49 AM
I like that, compared to a Jackson which for me, was just mind shatteringly too easy, I like that old weight, the tone/sustain... I like locking up my muscles in my upper arms for sustain, I like getting a Les Paul to do all the things that I have done, but make no mistkae, that Jackson I played on, this V shaped Jackson, which retailed at 2,800 pounds, was f**king sweet.

I like how Les Pauls are built 'the Gibson ones', I'm a geek when it comes to things like guitar tone, 'not amp tone'.
nacirema
08-07-2010, 03:26 AM
oh i feel you on that tip, amps are not what needs to make your tone.
that's why i'm partial to vintage guitars...it's age that gives them the best tone, the woods also a factor but mostly age.

I've used BOSS, I had the DD-2... I've ued their metal ones.
Right now I'm usuing a multi effect, a pretty decent one too, from Korg.
I've got a bunchof effects... And a guitar slide, try getting a guitar slide.
I've got that FreeSpeech guitar talker thing from Danelectro, it's like the Heil Talk Box but the Heil Talk Box requires a stacked amp scenario, as it plugs direcect in to the head cabinet, so I've got the other one, the one that guy in Bon Jovi had, the slightly cheaper more user friendly one... I need to order a brand new mic for it though...
The Big Muff Pi (New York) from Electro Harmonix, I've got it, slightly over rated in my opion but, does exactly what it says on the box so, I can't complain.
