Thank God Allah Buddha I'm from London and not Manchester, I mean that, sometimes more than I do other times mind, but, If I had to be born in this god forsaken country, i'm glad it's in London :D
In case you've been on mars for the past 4 years hiding in a cave with your eyes shut and your hands over your ears, let me tell you now, London won the Olympic 2012 bid.
Sure I love British music/models/sports/tv ect... Not to mention the history and the KFC's England has :) :P lol

I know another city has bid for the Olympics prior to London's 2012 bid, might have been Manchester, could have been Birmingham, what ever city it was, I know it lost Britian the Olympics.
I remember on Red Nose Day (The UK's charity telephon), all across the country, I heard this phrase
"There is life outisde London"
"Let's all be happy we're not in London"
"We have to show the importance of not comming from London"
And B/S uttered like that all day.
This made me feel like the UK doesn't like London, and the fact that people accuse Birmingham of being a world city, I think, is just crazy.
What ever delluded remarks simpletons make from places not in London, it does'nt change that London is still the heart beat of the UK, any one who dares doubt that is a communist lol
I never heard anything so offensive or silly as the pride about making the world aware that there is life outside of London, why bother?
Why not have just said where they're from, and be happy, why coast to coast pick on London and express how much it was needed to show life outside London?
That's the part I don't get, so in light of that.

The 2012 Oympics will open on July 27 2012.
This and many more reasons is why London, if it had to be placed against ANY other place in England, would win, I think... I mean, I know. :D

SHAME! to anyone not from London, j/k, though I do feel that sometimes, when I'm feeling cocky lol, but, and I do mean this, SHAME! to anyone from Manchester, I've never been, but, I have never forgave them for Coronation Street lol

London, I feel, is part of an exclusive club, lol, which goes (In any order) London, Paris & New York, (Tokyo and Los Angeles can come and play too) in this world city club house lol, but, those 3 cities, London, Paris & New York, I feel, belong to a unnamed club of super elite cities or whatever.
I like that my city won the Olympics in my life time, and I know that it could have gone either way, Paris or New York, which makes winning the Olympics that much more of a victory, since the competetion was so harsh, any of those cities deserved to win the Olympics.

Don't get me wrong, Madrid is great, but London isn't as big as it'll maybe like to be on the world stage.
You could say London, speaking about something British, but, London, when thought of as a city in the world, for some reason, tends to get followed by Paris, New York, maybe Milan too lol, I've heard that thrown into the batch :P

First of all I think that 2012 thing is a bunch of bunk. I seriously doubt anything is going to happen. Kinda like when a bunch of people panicked about year 2000 only to feel foolish later on, locked away in their bomb shelters with an insane amount of canned goods and bottled water.

About the Olympics...meh. I never really cared about the Olympics. Even if they were in my hometown sometime in my lifetime, I still wouldn't care. Quite frankly I think it's a yawn-fest.
