Ok so I started a new fanfic, which hopefully turns out to be better than my first one...
It's a cross between Futurama and Terminator. I didn't use the concept of time travel, cuz I wanted the setting to stay in the future. Here is the first part:
The story is set after the events of Bender's Game.
It has been a time of great crisis since Dark Matter was rendered useless by Professor Farnsworth and Igner.
Since then, scientist have been working day and night to develop alternative fuel as dense as dark matter.
In addition to fuel depletion, another threat to earth has returned from an alternate universe, the Brain Spawn!
Knowing that Earth is now in great crysis, the Brains try to take advantage of the situation and quickly think of a way to get rid of Fry so they can rule the Universe. They are well aware of Fry's immunity towards their stupifaction field.
One of the brains simply suggests: "Why not just kill the guy?". "We are floating brains, we cannot do a direct approach you imbecile!" said another brain. The giant brain in the infosphere interrupts: "But we can have someone to kill him for us!"
Hearing this, the brains begin to gossip as this idea is turning popular among them.
"But who? We can't use anyone on earth since the Nibblonians are alert everywhere, plus how can we possibly use a human to do the job? Make him stupid with our brainwaves so it can go eat garbage from a trash can?".
The brains all began to laugh but were quickly interrupted again by the giant brain: "Who said anything about a human?"
The brains all turned their front end towards each other with confusion.
The camera fades off from the Infosphere and back to Earth, PlanetExpress building.
In the TV room, Fry enters the room and sees Bender sitting on the couch, watching TV with his chest-door open.
"Whadaya doin? Fry asks. "What the hell does it look like? Watching All my Circuits!" Bender replies.
"Bender, the world is in crysis right now! We have no fuel! We can't make any profit when our ship doesn't work! And now you think it's just okay to watch TV, desperately hoping someone will invent something else?" Fry asks with a loud voice.
Bender re-coordinates his eyes towards Fry and says: "Yup..."
Fry, now frustrated: "Good enough for me..."
As they both watch the soap, Fry looks a bit sad. He starts to explain: "Man, things have really gone to the dogs since we have no fuel. Leela's gone to join some environmental protest group to celebrate the extinction of fuel... Hermes has taken time off since PlanetExpress can't make any deliveries and all the others are probably just hanging around the streets with nothing to do... It's just you, me and the professor."
"Look on the bright side, meatbag! We're getting a vacation, Hermes would have never given us!" Bender explains
"I guess..." Fry replies with a *sigh*.
The professor enters the room, looking like a wreck, even more than he usually is.
"What's the news, pops?" Bender immediately asks.
"I'm afraid it's going to take longer than I though... I'm glad Mom finally went backrupt but look at us now! I wonder if anyone of our crew will even return, exept for Zoidberg...". The professor turns a little bit more upset: "And you, Bender, instead of just lying on the couch like a trash can, you can give me a hand at cleaning up my lab!"
Bender curiously replies: "Hey why are you yelling at me? Fry is just as much of a trash can as I am!"
"Fry can't even go 1 minute in my lab without breaking anything, so for all I care, watch your soap until you die in your sleep!" The professor furiously explains.
"No problemo!" Fry cheerfully replies.
Back at the infosphere. The brains gaze upon an invention. "Do you think it can get the job done?" asks a brain.
The giant brain says: "This will wipe out that no-brained organism easily!"
It's a robotic skeleton. The metallic skeleton is 6 feet tall with a bulky armored body, equipped with dual miniguns on both hands.
"This won't work! We can't just send this giant piece of metal on earth... We need an infiltrator, something that blends in with humans!" a brain explains.
Another replies: "We have to cover it with living human tissue. We need to redesign this piece of metal to a smaller and thinner form but with the same strength. And no onboard heavy weapons! Simple 31th century firearms will get the job done..."
After 2 weeks of developing, the brains have finished the new metallic skeleton, but comes the time to choose an equivalent biological covering for this machine.
The brains looked up many humans from their computer and chose an ordinary guy, who wasn't living in NNY.
They craft a living human tissue around the machine. The invention is complete, now they simply have to program the CPU for the equivalent mission: Terminating Phillip J. Fry!
Now that the machine has been put together, standing with its eyes closed.
A brain makes its first remark: "Get this thing some clothes!"
The finished cybernetic-organism/Cyborg is wearing standard jeans, brown shoes and a dark grey shirt.
The Brains were not stupid, this was a highly advanced machine that could, to a lesser degree, show human emotions, think of the best tactics to achieve its goal and it was made from an unknown metal, that could surpass the toughness of Titanium.
The brains setup the machine into a small tube and launched it towards earth. A Nibblonian scout saw the process and contacted Nibbler to warn them. Nibbler received the message in Leela's apartment while she wasn't home.
Meanwhile, the tube was swiftly nearing Earth and crashed behind an alley.
The camera look straight into the blackness of the alley and a silhouette merged from the darkness. The machine reached the public and just stopped. It looked around with an emotionless face and the eyes weren't moving, only bending its neck to examine its surroundings.
It continued to walk among the crowd in the streets. Through the Unit’s heads up display/HUD, it examined each and every person it saw.
Mission priority: Terminate Phillip J. Fry
Target: No match
Threat level: None
The Brains could monitor the unit’s movements and sent the coordinates of the PlanetExpress building to the terminator. It finally reached the front door of the building and knocked.
The Professor opened the door and asked with a faint voice: "Who are you?"
The terminator stared blankly at the old man and responded to him with another question: "Phillip J. Fry?"
"Oh my no... That lazy idiot is doing nothing today but lying on the couch!" the Professor explained.
The terminator pushed the old man aside and proceeded to walk towards the TV room. Fry was half a sleep on the couch while Bender was sitting at the table drinking beer. The terminator drew closer to the room. Bender could hear someone walking over to the room, knowing it wasn't the professor, since it didn't walk like an over 100 year old man. Suddenly Nibbler crashed through the window with his little space shuttle and quickly awoke Fry. "Hey, what's the big deal?" both Bender and Fry asked.
"We must leave, now!" Nibbler said with anxiety.
At that point, the terminator had reached the room. It stood right beside the door and examined the three organisms.
He pointed his head towards Nibbler.
Target: Uknown species – No match
Threat level: NONE
Then he gazed at Bender.
Target: Bending Unit 22 – no match
Threat level: Moderate
And finally its head centered towards Fry.
Target: Phillip J. Fry
Target acquired
Threat level: NONE
Mission priority: TERMINATE
It took a lazer gun, hidden in the back of its jeans and pointed it towards Fry.
To be Continued...
