The Office (US and UK)

I saw the US version a while ago and i thought it was great. Anyway, i thought it would be a good topic just to see which version you prefer, although by the looks of it most of you are in Europe so i assume you like the UK version better. Anyway just post your thoughts about the show and which u think is better

Never seen the us version...but i didnt really like the uk version..overrated inn my oppinion! Dont like ricky gervais (sp?)

I like both...but I look at them as two different shows entirely. I can't compare them effectively. Gareth vs. Dwight....Boss vs. Boss....secretary vs. secretary....too hard!!!
I'll tell you one thing...the US cast is WAY better looking....
Which brings me to my second point.....(which is not popular, I'm sure)

Jim should forget about Pam, and stick with the WAY hotter new girl....she's Peggy Liptons'(Mod Squad) daughter in real life....
(and, yes...I know the pivotal point of Jim and Pams' story is their friendship....but...Dang!! That girl is hot!!)

I chose the US Office version but that might only be because ive never seen the Uk version. Although i might be biased i dont always find british humor quite :lol: as the US version

I have to say, I loved the Christmas ep of the US show. Poor Phyllis. She worked so hard on her oven mitt.

1B-DI i share your love of the US version! most people who say that it is 'boring' or 'bad clone of the UK version' have obviously only watched the first season (which is a dull re-creation of the UK version) but the 2nd and 3rd season are MUCH better. The smaller characters (Creed,Kevin,Phylys,Oscar,Toby,Kelly,Jan) and developed into hilarious characters and play bigger parts in the episodes (rather than just being in the background). And Dwight Shrute is just so damn funny, and also his beet farming cousin Mose (who has never left their farm). It's a shame that it's on hold because of the writers strike, a few of the actors are also writers for the show. Unfortunately in Australia they only showed 3 episodes of season 1, and they very slowly showed season 2 (average time slot was 12 midnight). Yes our TV is complete rubbish. But thankfully i can watch the new eps every week, Viva bit torrent!!!:thumbup1:

YAY, I'M NOT ALONE ANYMORE!!! I agree, it has become a show in its own right. The smaller players are awesome, I love Stanley and Creed. I always feel so bad for Toby...I didn't like him at first, but now I just wanna give him a hug and babysit his kid.

I saw a clip of UK version and didn't have a clue of what they were saying. So US Office for me
