Member Awards?

I Know SFF Is Still A Pretty New Site, But Maybe Sometime In The Next Few Weeks, We Can Have A Member Awards Contest, What Do Y'all Think?

I've thought of this and really want to do it, maybe here soon. ;)

In my opinion, it is too soon right now. If the board can prove to go for good amount of distance and is still active, my guess is that that's when we should do... I dunno something like 6 months to 1 year?

BTW, this kind of awards don't really have meanings if it's done frequently. We should keep it nicely at about once a year

6 Months? I Think At Least 3 Months Can Do Good.

I don't think we've gotten enough active members, or enough different personalities, to do it yet.

Maybe, but I've seen boards that last about 4 months or so and fade away. In my opinion, I'd like to see the board more and more members and create more intense competition when there are competitive amount of members for the categories

Maybe, how big was that board? Were there enough active posters and variety of personalities enough to make the competition intense? Were there enough posts back for the posts of the each category then to have contestants think hard before choosing the winners of each category?

My point is that if the board is bustling enough to have created many discussions or some members have made distinctions good enough to leave an impression, yeah that's fine. However, we're in the beginning stage of this board and we have yet to see more and more registering and posting here actively. If we were to do it now, we probably don't know who the winner would be cause frankly, we have long way to go in terms of making discussions on subjects that would determine just truly who is good or bad at it and just when others 'see' it. If we can get'em done in 3 months, that's fine. But I'm not trying to sound pessimistic, but there's no point having the contest 3 months later if some members lose interest on this board (surely hope that won't happen) and the vote would never occur. If the board stays active like this or even more active in longer period of time, yeah, that's when I'd do it
