It's one of my fave films, you should read the book, it's sick but very funny at the same time.

It's got nothing to do with 'Psycho'
It's based on a novel of the same name by Breat Easton Ellis.

One of the main arguments about this film is whether or not he actually carried out any of the murders, or was just imagining them..I personally think that he did murder, but sometimes embellished the truth...That's what i got from the book anyway.

I Think He Was Actually Murdered Them, He Sure Was Insane Enough.

Yes he was, but there are a few things that can support the 'imagining it' theory, the feed me a stray cat thing (that was obviously in his mind) The fact that his lawyer said he had dinner with paul allen recently (this can be dismissed IMO because of the frequent mistaken identity theme that goes on throughout the film) The fact that nobody came out of their apartment when he was chasing that prozzy with a chainsaw (would you come out??lol)
EDIT
The biggest one is when he returns to the apartment and the bodies have gone, but this is explained IMO because of the greed of the 80's upper class society, they wanted to sell the apartment and therefore covered it up. The strange reaction of the women selling the apartment supports this theory.
But this is what make it a great movie! It leaves a lot up to the viewer to decide on their own.

It was the best part of new york in the 80's boom time...They would be full...Infact the book says Tom Cruise lives there!!

I Didn't Like Psycho That Much.
I Didn't Like Psycho That Much.
That's because you don't have any respect for black & white movies. While American Psycho is great and unique, and is actually higher up on my personal favorites list, it is nowhere near as groundbreaking and revolutionary as Psycho was.
In time, I'm sure you will feel the same way.

It's in a different era of film making and cannot be compared to AP really.
Psycho was a breakthrough film, tho not one of my favourites i respect that film immensely.

Mine Of Course Is, "Hey Paul!", And Then Him Killing Him With The Axe.

That is a great scene, from the point where he puts Hewy lewis and the news on the stereo untill he whacks Paul with the axe is great!
Mine would be the scene in the nightclub "You're a fucking ugly bitch, i wanna stab you to death, and play around with your blood"
