Sam said he will add this at around 30 members and 5000 posts.
It is around that now so can we have one now?

JoeyLostDharma
28-08-2008, 01:38 PM
Yeah, I think we should.

I think an ad section is a bad idea at the moment!

The point is to come here to chat about The Simpsons and maybe a little off topic chats and discussions, not to advertise. GrrrRRRrrrRRRR

Really, why is advertising on every single forum so important? I don't get it.

iMatt

I know but we put all the effort in advertising this forum we should be able to advertise ours.

I'm voting for we do it when we hire moderators (in the future).

I think at 5000 posts not yet and mabye not straight away.
There should be a 100 limeit like cmf has 50 limt

Yea, a limitation like that might be in order, to ensure people participate somewhat before promoting their site, but does it really have to be 100 posts? Wouldn't 50 be enough?

Cloverfield
28-08-2008, 01:52 PM
Look how quick and easy people got to 100.

iMatt
28-08-2008, 01:52 PM
Yeah. But you could put a rule like you have to link back then we get more members.

netsavy006
28-08-2008, 02:04 PM
That's not a problem. Once a 88x31 affiliate button is posted I will be glad to add it to my forum affiliates.

JoeyLostDharma
28-08-2008, 02:05 PM
When you choosing mods anyway?

+zai@FFF
28-08-2008, 02:07 PM
I think you should be a Full Member AKA 1000+ posts (Progress Complete) to be able to promote anything here. That's fair.

JoeyLostDharma
28-08-2008, 02:09 PM
That sounds fair, I guess.

28-08-2008, 02:12 PM

Cloverfield

I think this place needs a mod now, because of the insane amount of activity.

However this is the admin's decision and I will respect it :P

At the end of the day, it is still only 40 members we are moderating...

sbfc93
28-08-2008, 02:20 PM
I know, but the most active 40 members I have ever seen.
Imagine carlsberg making a forum

Cloverfield
28-08-2008, 02:22 PM
It woulsn't be better than this :P:P

+zai@FFF
28-08-2008, 02:24 PM

The very first Moderator will have his/her hands full, I think the first moderator should be wise, friendly, great at spelling and using correct grammar, active, loves the TV show The Simpsons, knows how to moderate, have been a moderator before, should be able to solve problems/issues in a timely matter off the forums via email and/or PM system, ect. ect.

Good luck on finding this very skilled person. :P

Would look great on anyone's resume.

28-08-2008, 03:00 PM
Lol, If you ask to be a moderator your chances are killed!

+zai@FFF
28-08-2008, 03:18 PM
Who asked to be mod?

Actually, once we decide to hire moderators we'll probably open a new board for so-called applications. It is debatable whether everyone will be able to see your application or just you and the administrators. Applications will be judged on the following:

- Activity
- Posts
- Quality of Posts
- Language (Fluent English?)
- Effort put into Application
- Maturity level

From there we may choose one or two moderators, who knows when we'll start though. Oh and, yes, a few people have asked to be moderators. I can personally guarantee they will not have my vote.

Sounds good Sam, no need to rush things though. :P

That is all the qualities needed to be a good mod, nice application criterias.

I'm quite sure the applications should be private to everyone other than the application starter and the 2 admins.

JoeyLostDharma
28-08-2008, 04:04 PM
Sounds cool. I doubt I'll bother to apply though.

+zai@FFF
28-08-2008, 04:11 PM
Or just have the person send the application to an email address or to someone via PM?

Cloverfield
28-08-2008, 04:47 PM
Nah, we'll just make a private forum.

+zai@FFF
28-08-2008, 04:57 PM
That will work too...

29-08-2008, 03:08 AM

+zai@FFF
29-08-2008, 02:28 PM
I'm sure when the admins think it's ready for a moderator than they will make a choice to promote someone or open applications. :)

Vintage1998
29-08-2008, 02:35 PM
I won't be promoted! my change went up in a bang in the staff thread! anyway shall we get back too the subject as we are off topic!

+zai@FFF
29-08-2008, 02:42 PM
I'm sure if the admins want to create a advertising section here than they will do it. ;)

MovieMan8877445
29-08-2008, 03:12 PM
Way Off-Topic.

+zai@FFF
29-08-2008, 03:17 PM

MovieMan8877445
29-08-2008, 03:21 PM

+zai@FFF
29-08-2008, 04:02 PM
Then my post wasn't off topic now wasn't it? :P

MovieMan8877445
29-08-2008, 04:15 PM
Then my post wasn't off topic now wasn't it? :P
