Yeah I never noticed it at the time, but after seeing all the other episodes and then seeing Space Pilot 3000, you get heaps more of the jokes and the irony, I keep forgetting that when he first see Bender he is about to use a suicide booth, and then reveals he quit Bending because they were making the gurders for suicide booths. And you can see Nibbler's shadow too that is really cool.
My other favorite from that series is 'Hell is other robots', the robot devil cracks me up!

My favorite is the very first episode, Space Pilot 3000 and closely followed by the second episode, The series has landed. Futurama got off to a good start.

'I roommate' is a pretty funny episode. I still laugh at the conversations about Bender's apartment, and also Bender's rust beard after being up for days not drinking lol

It#s a great start and so i became a fan of the show.

Also "I Roommate" is great imo.

The Series Has Landed mostly because of the "Whalers on the Moon" song, my favorite song from the Futurama series. I was cracking up the entire episode. In fact, this was a great little season. It's the only one I have on DVD (so far), and I just love how a series could start off so hot. I, Roomate was great, and it had my favorite line in Futurama history. "Hey sexy mama. Wanna kill all humans?" LOL I love Bender.

My favorite episode of the first season is definitely the pilot, Space Pilot 3000. It really explored into the characters (obviously, it is a pilot episode) and made it have a great feel. Love the ending.
