Every Simpsons episode i've watched lately has had lots of lines edited or cut out completely. Has anyone else noticed this? Does this happen in the US as well?

It's annoying because im not even sure why they edited it...There aren't many bad words or offensive pieces of dialogue in the simpsons.

i always find they're edited, its very irritating!!
for example a few weeks ago i watched the one where moe transforms the pub in some sort of club and they cut out the bit where homer runs back to the oxygen tank after coming off it, i mean what on earth??

It's getting daft now, some of the scenes don't even make sense anymore.

I wonder what the thinking was behind taking the oxygen tank scene out? Showing addiction? That's ridiculous!

Well south park is never on before the 9 o'clock watershed, nor is Family guy...If they were the epidoes would be about 5 mins long!!! lol

ive noticed the same happens with friends as well though and sometimes that is on past the watershed but its still cut to ribbons

I think it's a timing thing.

A lot of films on UK TV are cut to fit the schedules, with bits taken out here there and everywhere.

so far i haven't noticed the simpsons being censored, but a few years ago they started censoring all the Looney Tunes episodes.. i mean come on! it's looney tunes!

they cut out the scenes where yosemite sam yells all that jargon. even though it's not real cussing i guess they didnt' want to show him get all angry. plus they stop showing some episodes where i guess people coudl take it as them being racists. stuff like that. it's fine though, i just started buying them on DVD, screw television

That happened on that South Park episode Cartoon Wars where they wouldn't show that religious guy. Cartoon Network cut the scene completly.

I can remember a UK version of Robocop that had me in stitches. They just dubbed over the top of the swearing and it then looked like a badly dubbed porn.

'Fudge you mothercrusher' was a particular favourite.

Yeah they were being ironic, same with the Hot Fuzz one.....Classic!

But they are required by law to make a TV friendly version...sucks balls IMO.
