Good to know - how did you find BWBB, then? :P
I liked the film, I thought the multiple plotlines worked out fine - most of the jokes were good as well, so it gets high marks for that. Watching it a second time though, some of its problems became a bit more apparent; the humour is definitely dirtier than usual, the main storyline wasn't all that engaging and the ending a bit anticlimactic. Storywise it's a bit of a letdown compared to BBS, but I actually found it to be funnier than the previous film. They complement each other well, I hope the two remaining films will fit in the story arc of the films as well.

I liked the adult theme throughout also. The jokes were pretty much spot on and the storylines pretty engaging.
I quite liked the ending. It tied things up pretty neatly and made me feel that the first 2 DVDs were 2 parts of the same story. Now I'm ready for something different in Benders game.
I agree with TK-421 that the storyline for BBS was better. It just felt more like the Futurama I love but in saying that BWBB's story was more complete (if that makes sense at all!).
There's much more I'd like to talk about but I'm not going to spoil the good bits for anyone who's not seen it yet.

I thought the BWABB was good , but In my opinion BBS was better . I just thought that in some parts with Yivo was a bit silly . But over all it was good , but it is just me or was it at the start when Fry introduced Colleen to the crew wasn't Leela looking a bit jealous , and in other parts of the film as well .

I thought Beast With a Billion Backs, while still a decent Futurama tale, was a huge step down in quality from Bender's Big Score. The fact that they completely dropped the Fry/Leela developments (again *sigh*) and didn't do a whole lot with the general concept of the movie period, really made me not like it as much as BBS. I'd give it about an 8, compared to my 9 for BBS. This one really didn't have as much heart, and while the humor was slightly improved, this film just proved that Futurama is about much more than humor, and is at its best when they focus on deep, emotional stories, not one-off gags. I also felt the ending was rushed, even moreso than the cliffhanger in BBS.

I thought billion backs started well but the longer scenes with yivo slowed the movie down too much.Benders big score gets full marks though.

actually that's one of the things i really loved about this one. in the regular episodes we had some times when fry wasn't always all about getting with leela. and since BBS is pretty much ALL about that, it was nice to have a break from it. i like them staying away from that subject for this movie.

knowing the writers, they'll either give us a final end to the question, or end it like TDHAIPT.

I saw about 90% of the movie on-line as I just bought it through amazon. It was ok, but for some reason I can't shake the feeling that the new movies don't have the same "punch" as the episodes did. This might be due to the fact that episodes are shorter and therefore have a better joke/time ratio. Having only 22 minutes seemed like a good way to make the characters do a variety of random crazy things, but when the entertainment value has to last for an hour and a half and be cohesive, I could see where this is a lot harder. Overall I did like the show and loved the anti-religious tones. Using an octopus from another dimension as a commentary on religion was great especially when the humans went to heaven.
I find I enjoy these more after I watch them with audio commentary, but for now only a few things made me laugh out loud. The sophomore curse seems to have struck again as I only feel somewhat better about this movie as I did with the entirety of Season two, which as my opinion thread in the season 2 forum shows of my opinion, sucked.
I'm editing my post to add, perhaps my "not as content-ment" with the new line of Futurama offerings could be explained by this:
Though Futurama episodes are not written by JUST one person, as one person may pitch the idea and everyone is involved in adding jokes etc, perhaps with the movies too many cooks are spoiling the soup. Granted Ken Keeler (one of my favorites mind you) is credited with writing something like 3/4 of the futurama material in current production I suspect there is alot more contribution from all the writers and perhaps to write a movie each person has to contribute alot more than to write an episode, with increasing contribution comes increasing hinderance of different jokes and styles.

Did anyone else who got this dvd have scratches all over it because of the bad cardboard packaging. I was very mad seeing how benders big score was also the same. Both dvds had to be returned more then once because they wouldnt play from all the scratches. :cursing::cursing::cursing:

I thought it was good, the plot of the movie was good, and all the little subplots fitted into the main part of it rather well. I found it funny that cba to say his name. Was bascially raping the citizens of earth Lol. And then gradually started to turn into if you can call it this a relationship.

That is really great, the deep idea of informational materialization, the Paradise...
Also eternal tiny and intellectual humour - that is why I an fond of Futurama overall, and BWBB in particular. Cannot say if it is better than Bender's Big Score or vice versa. Both are really great.

I totally agree... Its as if the creators didn't even remember what was going on in the last DVD film.
I know they wanted to put some pressure on Fry and Leela's relationship but come on... Fry demonstrated that he would do anything to win Leela's heart and all of a sudden he fell for another chick. Pretty weird actually...

If only, but actually they didn't. This was referenced at the end of BWABB when Leela mentioned "You forgot me quick enough when you met Colleen!" meaning Fry had forgotten about Leela too quickly after Lars died and especially when Fry constantly tried to win Leela's heart when Lars came into their lives.

Well, that is completely out of character for our favorite 20th century man. Maybe the writers were lazy
