I thought the rip in the universe was caused by a paradox overload....but after Yivo leaves the hole magically closes up....so was it in fact Yivo's doing and not a reprocussion of the events of BBS??

That's a pretty good question. I imagine Yivo just had the means to close it again, or something. Obviously the writers just needed something to finish the whole 'rip in space'-storyline off with, so the rip closing as Yivo exits fits in pretty well.

The paradox probably opened up the other universe causing the two universes to connect and when yivo left he probably closed it up himself

After all Yivo was so strong it should have been an easy work.

didn't enjoy the ending, which was confusing and didn't answer much behind why

i think they should have ended it like this
the professor in front of the "what if" machine instead

now that would have made a little more sense :P

I thought the ending of BWBB was overly vague and confusing as well, frankly.

All I can gather is that Bender's time-travel-created paradox caused the rip through to Yivo's universe, and that rip was closed either by Yivo him/herself when he/she went back home, or he/she returned to the depths of the other universe, thuse causing the rip to close.

But then, maybe the rip closed itself for whatever reason? *shrugs*

If I could make a better ending, I would reveal to all that Yivo was used by shclis exact opposite Zylox. You could all say that Yivo is Heaven and Zylox is Hell. Zylox's tentacles are a neon green and will leave behind a shriveled corpse if they touch you. If you look into Ryvul's fan fic's, you'll see the Zylox dialogue I typed for all to read.
