Don Cornelius was the host of the 1970's show Soul Train. A lot of soul singers got their start from this show. Like the Jackson 5 and the whatnot. Used to watch this with my family when I was a kid. it originated from American Bandstand.
Don Cornelius died from a self inflicted gun shot wound, some say he was battling illness. He was 75 years old.
