The Simpsons. Although it's obvious there has been a decline, I still find at least one thing humorous in each episode. The first nine seasons were pure gold, and there's some gems in the nine seasons afterwards.
Family Guy on the other hand....ehhh...I liked it at first, but reviewing it, I think season 1 is awful, as is the majority of season 4, practically all of season 5, and season 6 (what I've seen of it). Four crap seasons over 2 ok-ish ones: absolutely no contest. Simpsons wins.

Family Guy has its funny moments, but a lot of the humour is in rather bad taste! I'm not squeamish or easily offended, but sometimes they are just a little too rude.

They're both excellent, but they have both gone a bit downhill (especially The Simpsons) The Simpsons was brilliant during seasons 5-12 and family guy was brilliant during seasons 1-3. The new Simpsons episodes are pretty terrible but you can't really blame em, It's hard to do 19 seasons and not get stale.

Simpsons hands down. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Family Guy, but I can only take so many, "This was just like the time when..." jokes.

Plus, they can be a little too crass sometimes. I'm not a prude or anything...I enjoy it in small doses. A little bit of Family Guy goes a long way for me. Plus, I can't stand fart jokes. :)

Simpsons for me. Even though Simpsons seems to be going downhill and going for a slightly Family Guy style, it's still the best. And the rudeness in Family Guy, I think is great. It's a no bars held kinda thing or however your meant to say it. But there was one joke where Walt Disney was drawing Minnie Mouse who was standing in front of him. Then he said something like, "Now take it off." Then Minnie Mouse nervously said, "Do I have to." He said sharpishly, "You want to be a star don't you." Then you see Minnie Mouse's dress fall at her feet while she's shaking and Walt Disney draws. I found that joke disturbing. Like I watch South Park and Family Guy and laugh at all the rude jokes. Don't bother me. But this one did. I see the humour in it, but it was too creepy.

I think they should keep making episodes. Simpsons has already proved it can be great. So keep going. They'll have episodes that'll make you laugh all the time anyway. Keep going and going. They'll get back up there again. Why cancel it just because it's going downhill a bit. Like in the future on a chart it might say oh that season was good, this season wasn't so good, neither was this one, this one was. There's no point giving up on it and quitting just because they're not in there prime. Plus there's plenty of people who will watch the Simpons all the time and if the cancelled it there would be a lot of complaints. Obviously not from you though.

i just get really pissed off when stuff like this is renewed when it should have finished long ago when great programmes like arrested development the critic and futurama dont get a fair chance compared to the same stuf being around for too long

I watch family guy when it is on TV but I still see it as a poor copy of the Simpsons with more crosswords and less second degree.
