Less homer more Bart, like during the first three seasons?

All the Bart episodes this season have been absolutely terrible imo.

Sadly, Homer and Lisa are the only characters keeping the show alive. :(

So no I don't think it would work.

where is the Bart from the first three seasons? The Bart that caused Bartmania? The boy who knew too much? The Bart who wrote the whole night with a mental patient to create a song for his sister`s birthday?

This show is gone long enought and probably already used all up all good ideas long ago.

But with such a large cast of secundary characters (probably the biggest in any series ever) the possibilities are infinite.
Remember S7 and S8 in which there was space for a Troy McClure-centred episode or an episode that focused entirely on Kirk Van Houten (a character that had only a few lines before said episode)
That was the way Springfield had to be handled: as a vivid ensemble-cast of interesting characters, so much more than Homer has a new job part 84.

Yeah, thats the problem. The old simpsons were great not some random stuff..

This show is gone on too long as far as i know..

I still can't be believe it's the longest show ever.

22 years. Wow.

There are soaps which lasted longer, but that does not count I guess.

And technically Japanese tv shows have gone on for longer

But my little evening cartoon turning into such a marathon of a tv show is still just amazing.

Can you imagine a time when there were only 13 episodes? lol
The first Simpsons-videogames were made with only those 13 episodes as background.

Yeah, if it had got cancelled after the first season. It really makes you think the huge cultural phenomenon that wouldn't have existed - no Bartmania, no Futurama, hell I doubt any adult-appealing cartoons wouldn't have been made - so that's no South Park, Venture Bros, American Dad, Archer, Bob's Burgers, King of the Hill, etc.

Argh! What a horrible universe that would be.

I think Brian feels more real than any character from AD.
And MacFarlane has a terrific classic-style singing voice.
