Bender-unit-22 Entry
This is an episode of my show I am entering in the contest. It's called Sick Daze. First I'll tell you what the episode is about then I'll put the episode. It wil be divided into different parts though since it's long. Also you probably won't know any of these characters since I made them up. Now here's the description of the episode. It starts off with Pinky and her cousins trying to stop Dark Pinky, Pix, and Nina (who has a cold and eventually gets Pix sick) from taking a powerful device from a lab but they fail and the bad guys (or should I say girls) get away but not with the device just yet. Then the others have to stop Dark Pinky from using the device to destroy the world. But first they have to find out what it does since no one knows what it does. As they try to figure out a way to stop D.P. (that's what I'm calling Dark Pinky for now) Summer catches the cold that Nina had. Then Mike catches it from Summer. So now it's up to Pinky, Jake, and Crash to stop D.P. and the others but then the cold starts spreading towards everyone. Now it's up to Pinky to stop D.P, Pix, and Nina from taking the device and try not to get a cold. Can she do it?
Now here's part 1 of the episode.
In a secret lab, there is a powerful device in a room. No one knows what it does except for the scientist who built it. Many villains tied to find out what it does but they failed. Now we join Dark Pinky (D.P.), Pix, and Nina on top of the roof of the lab.
D.P: Ok so here's the plan. I'm gonna tie Pix to this rope and lower her down. While your lowered down Pix, you grab the device and I'll pull you back up.
Pix: Uh, don't you think it'll be easier if we just break through the door and just take the machine.
D.P: Hello, the guards will catch us if we did that.
Pix: Not if we use these weapons and this sleeping gas.
D.P: Oh yeah. That's why I have you as my partner Pix, you always remind me to do the obvious things.
Nina: *stuffed up* What about me? *sneezes*
D.P: Well...your just my niece and I'm just stuck with you.
Nina: *sarcastically* Thanks a lot. *blows nose*
D.P: Now let's get that device.
Pix: Wait a minute? What if Pinky and her cousins come and try to stop us?
D.P: Don't worry, I'll take care of them. Now let's go and Nina get off your butt and help us!
Nina: How can I? I can't move my legs! *sneezes then blows nose*
D.P: Now you're just being lazy.
Pix: Well she is sick and you did force her to come here.
Nina: Yeah, why did you make me come here when you know I have a bad cold?
D.P: Now isn't the time to ask questions. Now when we're done stealing the machine, taking over the world, and destroying my arch enemy then you can get some rest.
Nina: I guess I'll never get better then.
D.P: *sarcastically* Ha ha ha! Now let's do this.
They got to the front door and use the weapons on the guards. Then they sneak part each room. Nina sneezed a couple of times but she eventually stopped. After that they finally got to the room with the machine.
D.P: There it is. Now all we have to do is take it and then we'll rule the world! *evil laughter*
Pix: Wow, you sure are being evil today.
Nina: *sniffs* A little too evil if you ask me.
D.P: Well I didn't ask you so there! Now let's steal this thing.
Too bad she didn't realize that a guard was listening to her behind the door. The guard busted through the door.
Pix: Looks like we're busted.
D.P: Not quite. *takes some sleeping gas and sprays it at the guard* Well, well, well, sleeping on the job now. Isn't that a shame.
Nina: Are you done yet? *sneezes*
D.P: Fine, I'll stop. Now let's get back to business.
Nina: Ok well if you need me I'll be asleep. *collapses and falls asleep*
Now we're at Christine's house where we join Pinky and her cousins. They're just sitting in the living room bored when Pinky's watch starts beeping. She pushed a button and Jenny told her about D.P's plan to steal the machine at the lab.
Summer: Man, why do we always get missions on the weekends?
Pinky: I know, it sucks but we still have to protect the city, otherwise we would live in a world when crazy villains and slimy monsters ruled.
Summer: Well when you put it that way I guess it's ok, but why do we have to do it?
Pinky: Would you stop complaining and just do the mission? Now let's go. Crystal control! *she transforms into Crystal Pinky and flies off* (When everyone is in they're other form they're names will be they're power form, so Pinky will be Crystal Pinky (I'll call her Crystal P.), Summer would be Lollipop, etc.
Everyone else get's they're disguises on and run off following Crystal P. Back at the lab D.P. and the others are still trying to take the device and Nina's still sleep.
D.P: Ok, almost there. Just a little closer.
Crystal P: Not so fast! *comes crashing through the roof and falls on Pix* You know, if you weren't there to break my fall that would of totally hurt me.
Pix: *weakly* Good...for... you. Now get off of me!
Crystal P: Ok, there's no need to yell.
Then suddenly Lollipop, Pickles, Dr. Science, and Mikey come crashing through the roof too and guess who they landed on. If you guessed Pix then you're right.
Everyone: That's for breaking our fall Pix.
Pix: *more weakly* Don't......mention....it. Now could you guys do me a favor?
Lollipop: Sure what is it?
Pix: GET OFF OF ME! *knocks them off*
All: Ow!
Pickles: You know, you could of asked nicely instead of throwing us off!
Pix: At least I'm not a pickle loving freak.
Pickles: Take that back!
D.P: Will you shut up already?! We're suppose to be taking this device not arguing with out enemies!
Crystal P: You're not gonna take that device while I'm here.
Mikey: Don't you mean while we're here?
Crystal P: Sure, whatever.
D.P: Well I guess that means I'll have to destroy you then. Pix, give me those weapons.
Pix: I would if I could move anything below my head.
D.P: Man I have the laziest minions. I guess I'll have to do this myself. *goes over to the box of weapons* Now prepare to face my wrath! *throws sharp knives at the others*
Crystal P: Quick guys, move! *everyone jumps away from the knives* Now don't let her get that device.
Others: Sure, whatever.
Crystal P: Ok then. Let's move out! *she goes and attacks D.P while the others just stand there*
Lollipop: Ok now I'm bored.
Pickles: You're telling me.
Dr. Science: You know, since we're in a lab this is a good place to learn about science. And I'm sure someone will spill something and we could clean it up. After all a clean lab is a happy lab.
Lollipop: You know, you might want to change your name from Dr. Science to Dr. Boring. I mean who the heck wants to clean up.
Dr. Science: Fine, but don't come crying to me when your neck deep in dirt.
Crystal P: *getting zapped by a laser and struggling to beat D.P.* Guys, you're suppose to be helping out!
Pickles: I guess we could help. It's time for pickle action! *throws bombs shaped like pickles at D.P.*
D.P: Aah! *drops the laser* It burns!
Pickles: Hey, my pickle bombs aren't that bad.
Lollipop: You're right, they're much worse.
Crystal P: Now to get the machine.
D.P: Not so fast! *shoots a freeze ray at her* I'm getting that device. *Then Crystal P. falls down and she can't move*
Dr. Science: Pinky's down, it looks like we have to stop Dark Pinky.
Mikey: * after he takes his own picture and gets dizzy* Ooh, look at the pretty colors. *falls down*
Pickles: Come on, these pickle bombs aren't that bad. *throws one on the floor by him* I....stand....corrected. *falls down*
Lollipop: *standing by Nina* Is she like in a trance or something?
Nina: *wakes up* Mom, is that you? *sneezes on Lollipop* Sorry about that. *falls back to sleep*
Lollipop: *screams real loud* I just got sneezed on by my enemy! I need soap, disinfected, anything clean! *runs out the door to find some soap*
Dr. Science: Well it looks like I have to stop Dark Pinky *notices he has a stain on his jacket* right after I clean this stain. *leaves to find stain cleaner*
Crystal P: *still frozen* You guys? What about the device?
D.P: It looks like your sidekicks ditched you. This was easier than I thought. Now I'll just be taking this device and be on my way. Pix, Nina, get up and let's go!
Nina: Oh, ten more minutes please.
Pix: Yeah, ten more minutes or at least my until my back gets heeled.
D.P: Man, how lazy can you guys get?
Then suddenly Blaze comes crashing through the roof and you can just take a wild guess on who he lands on. (since he is in his ultra form I'll call him U. Blaze)
Pix: Ok, WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP FALLING ON ME?!
U. Blaze: Sorry, I guess I'm not good with my landing but thanks for breaking my fall.
Crystal P: Blaze, what are you doing here?
U. Blaze: Well I figured that you were gonna need my help so I just dropped in.
Pix: And nearly broke my back.
U. Blaze: Don't worry about a thing because I'll handle it from here. * a bottle of sleeping gas comes rolling towards him* Hey what's this? *sprays it and then falls asleep*
D.P: Wow, this was much easier than I thought. Now would you tow get off your lazy butts and come on!
Nina: Could you call a doctor?
Pix: And someone who can re- straighten by back?
D.P: Fine, just get up!
Nina: Ok. *goes over and gets pix and gets into D.P's hovercar* Oh and just two questions?
D.P: What is it?
Nina: One, how are we gonna get this thing to fit on the hover car, and two, did we remember to check the fuel in the car?
D.P: Pix, it was your job to check the fuel.
Pix: Well if my back wasn't broken in different places then maybe I would of remembered!
Suddenly the fuel gets super high and they all blast into the air.
D.P: We'll be back for the device!
Crystal P: *who is still frozen* Well at least she didn't take the device.
Then a scientist comes into the room with Lollipop and Dr. Science.
Scientist: Oh thank goodness the device is save!
Crystal P: Uh, can I get some help here?
Scientist: Oh, right. *zaps a laser at her to unfreeze her* Now what's up with these guys?
Crystal P: They're just tired. Anyway I have a question? What the heck is so special about this device? I know it's powerful but what does it do?
Scientist: Well that's a top secret and if I told you then well, it wouldn't be a secret anymore.
Crystal P: Yes it would. It would be our secret.
Scientist: Sorry, but I still can't tell you. But why don't I help you wake up your friends.
Lollipop: You could really help me if you gave me some disinfecting spray.
Dr. Science: If you're getting sick stay away from me. I don't want to want to get germs that can crawl into my body and give me a virus.
Lollipop: Now you're freaking me out.
Crystal P: Knock it off. Now how can you wake them up?
Scientist: You might want to cover your ears. *takes out a blow horn and blows it. Everyone jumps up and screams*
Lollipop: I guess they're up.
Part 2:
Back at the house Pinky and her cousins are figuring out a way to stop D.P. from taking that device. (Everyone's back to their normal forms now)
Pinky: Ok guys, we've got to try to figure out a way to stop my arch-enemy from taking that device.
Summer: I really don't see the point of taking something if you don't even know what the thing does! That device could make cheese for all we know.
Pinky: It could also be a a device set for world destruction if it falls into the wrong hands. Now does someone have a plan?
Summer: Could you keep it down? I'm getting a headache and it's so hot in here.
Crash: Headaches? Hotness? That could only mean one thing, Summer must of got her head stuck in the heater and now the heat is working in her head.
Mike: Now that's just ridiculous. She had to of got sucked into the sun and is suffering a heat wave in her head.
Crash: *sarcastically* Yeah that makes a lot of sense.
Summer: Well both of you are wrong, idiots!
Pinky: Can we get back on topic here?
Summer: I told you to stop yelling!
Pinky: You're the one that's yelling!
Summer: Only because you won't shut your watermelon sized motor mouth! *sneezes* Now see what you did?
Crash: Now she's sneezing?
Mike: There must of been pepper on the sun.
Summer: I didn't get suck into the sun you twit!
Crash: Now she's cranky.
Jake: Don't you think it's pretty obvious why Summer feels like this?
Crash: Does it look like we think it's obvious?
Mike: Yeah, and I don't think I know what obvious even means.
Summer: You, idiots I caught Nina's stupid cold from when she sneezed on me! *sneezes, stuffed up* You see?
Crash: Well maybe if I wasn't unconscious then I maybe I would of figured it out!
Summer: It's not my fault you got those pickle stink bombs!
Then Christine comes downstairs to see what's going on.
Christine: Kids, what's with the yelling?
Pinky: Well, I'm trying to think of a plan to stop Dark Pinky from taking that device from the lab but my cousins keep on changing the subject and that distracting me.
Summer: Well it's not my fault I caught Nina's dumb cold! *sneezes*
Christine: Summer's sick? My baby!
Summer: Oh, come on mom it's not that serious.
Christine: Well i don't want to take any chances. Now let me take your temperature. *puts the thermometer in Summer's mouth and the liquid busts out of it* Oh, my. You're burning up.
Summer: That stupid Nina! Just wait until she gets better then she'll see.
Pinky: And what are you gonna do to her, shove a lollipop down her throat?
Summer: If I wasn't sick I would crush you right about now.
Christine: Now come on Summer let's go get you some medicine. *drags her in the kitchen*
Summer: It's not the pink one is it. Please, not the pink one! Aah!
Pinky: Now that Summer's sick I guess the 4 of us have to stop Dark Pinky.
Blaze: *busting through the front door* Don't you mean the 5 of us?
Pinky: What are you doing here, again?
Blaze: Well since Summer's sick I figured that you were gonna need a extra member to fill in for her so I came in.
Pinky: You know, I think Summer would like it even more if you helped took care of her.
Summer *in the kitchen* Oh, no she wouldn't!
Christine: Come here and take your medicine!
Summer: Aah! The horror!
Blaze: Well with that said, I guess I'm coming with you guys.
Pinky: *sarcastically* Oh great.
Mike: You know I think I'm coming down with something too.
Crash: Nice try Mike but we're all in this together.
Pinky: Yeah you can't fake your way out of this.
Mike: I'm being serious here.
Christine *busting through the kitchen door* Did someone say their sick?
Everyone: Mike did?
Mike: Well you guys didn't have to announce it.
Christine: Let me feel your forehead. *feels his head and immediately takes off her hand* Wow, your burning up too.
Mike: Oh-no, I have the sun disease!
Christine: You just have a little cold. You probably caught it from Summer. Now let's go get you some medicine too. *goes in the kitchen with him* And Summer keep that ice pack on your head!
Summer: B-b-b-but it's f-f-f-freezing!
Crash: Man I hope I don't get sick. It's already bad enough that Mike and Summer are sick and I don't want to hear Jake complaining about all the germs and how he doesn't want to get sick and 'stay away from me' and blah, blah, blah.
Jake: Well at least I don't complain when I run all out of pickles.
Crash: I don't complain about that. I may wine a little bit but I don't complain.
Pinky: Well it looks like it's just the 3 of us.
Blaze: You mean the 4 of us.
Pinky: Blaze, I can count.
Blaze: Come on, you're gonna need some extra help.
Crash: That's why she has us.
Pinky: You guys don't even do anything half the time. Fine, you can come but if you make one lame pun then I'm sticking you in a time machine and sending you to the dinosaur age.
Crash: Let's just go before one of us get's sick.
Christine: *in the kitchen* Did someone say sick?
Pinky: Let's hurry!
They all run off and goes to the lab.
Part 3 (the long part)
After they got blasted into the air, D.P, Pix, and Nina finally landed. The problem is that they are stuck in a tree. Pix and Nina are on the hovercar while D.P is stuck on a branch in the middle of them.
D.P: *sarcastically* This is just great! Now how the heck are we suppose to get that device?
Pix: Well first we have to figure out how to get out of this tree.
Nina: Well you guys can do whatever you want. As soon as I get out of this tree I'm going to a doctor. That is if I can move my legs.
D.P: Will you shut up already? Now let's figure out a way to get out of this tree and destroy that annoying arch-enemy of mine and her bratty sidekicks.
Pix: Is it me, or is it getting really hot outside?
D.P: Will you guys stop changing the subject? We have a device to steal! Who cares about the weather?
Pix: Stop yelling at me! Your giving me a headache!
Nina: Could you keep it down? I'm trying to relax!
Pix: How can you relax? We're stuck in a tree!
Nina: Well maybe if you shut your turbo mouth then I could think of a way to get us out of this tree!
Pix: Oh, please. You couldn't even find a way out of a paper bag.
D.P: Both of you just shut up! Now what's with the yelling?
Nina: She started it.
Pix: It's not my fault I'm hot. Maybe it's this heat that's driving me crazy.
D.P: Hello, it's not even hot out here!
Nina: Wait a minute, hotness? Crankiness? That's how I was feeling when I caught my cold.
D.P: So you don't mean?
Pix: You gave me your stupid cold! Why I outta *sneezes* kill you! *sneezes again* Does someone have a tissue?
Nina: I have one but I don't think you want to use it.
Pix: Ok, that's just sick.
Nina: *laughing*
Pix: What's so funny?
Nina: You said that that was sick and we're sick. Don't you get it?
Pix: That's it! I draw the line at puns. Right now you're about to get my fist in your face!
Nina: Get away from me! *they both lean to the edge and the hovercar starts to fall. It falls on D.P and brings her down with the others and the car*
Nina: Well, at least we got out of the tree.
Pix: And strangely, my back feels fine now. *sneezes* But I still have your freak cold!
Nina: It's not my fault you got sick. She's the one who forced me to come on this stupid mission knowing I was sick. Now I know how kids feel when they have parents who make them go to school when they're sick. (I should know since I always have to go to school when I'm sick)
D.P: *with the hovercar on top of her* I just have one thing to say.
Nina: And that is....
D.P: GET THIS STUPID HOVERCAR OFF OF ME! *they both get the car off her quickly* Thank you, now let's go get that device.
Pix: Uh, actually that was two things.
D.P: Just come on! *pulls them both my their ears*
Nina and Pix: Ow! Not the ears!
They continue walking to the lab. Meanwhile Pinky and the others are walking to the lab. (They are still in their normal forms)
Crash: How much longer? My feet are killing me from all of that running and since SOMEBODY dropped a bowling ball on my foot!
Jake: I said it was an accident. How was I suppose to know my anti-gravity machine wouldn't work?
Crash: I don't know. Maybe because none of your inventions work!
Pinky: Will you shut up? You should be trying to figure out a plan not complaining about your feet!
Blaze: Yeah! The sooner we stop those guys the better. Dark Pinky is gonna pay for rejecting me!
Pinky: *under her breath* Personally I don't blame her.
Blaze: What was that?
Pinky; I said, what a shame of her.
Blaze: Well at least someone agrees with me.
Crash: Can we hurry it up? I'm starting to sweat and I feel like a fried pickle.
Pinky: A fried pickle?
Crash: I'm hot ok?
Pinky: But it's only like 65 degrees out here.
Crash: Are you sure it isn't 95 degrees out here?
Pinky: I'm pretty sure about that considering that it's only spring.
Crash: I didn't ask what season it was I asked if it was 85 degrees. And you're talking about everyone else going off topic when you're the main one!
Pinky: I was just-
Crash: Shut up! If I wanted your opinion I would of asked you for it! *seconds later* I'm sorry. I guess it's just this heat that's making me upset.
Blaze: But it's not even hot out.
Crash: Did I ask for your opinion?
Pinky: You know, I think there's another reason your acting this way.
Crash: Oh-no! I can't be sick, can I? *sneezes*
Pinky: Yep, your sick.
Crash: Why me? Jake do something! Use one of your inventions to make me better or something.
Jake: But I thought that my inventions didn't work.
Crash: I was just kidding when I said that. Oh, just forget it. I'm too tired and weak to argue with you. Why don't you just carry me the rest of the way?
Jake: Have you lost your mind? I'm sure you have enough strength to walk.
Crash: I just want to go to sleep.
Jake: Fine, I guess I'll use my anti-gravitational remote to float you home.
Crash: Are you out of your mind? I'm already sick, I don't want a broken back. Not to mention mom's intense get better remedies. I'll just stay with you guys.
Pinky: I don't blame you. I can just imagine the pain that Summer and Mike are feeling now.
Back at the house Summer and Mike are still in pain from the intense treatments. The worst part is that Christine called Allyson and asked her to help.
Mike: *standing in a tub of ice water with a ice bag on his head* H-h-how l-l-l-long do I-I have to s-s-stand in this b-b-b-bucket?
Christine: Just for a couple more minutes and Summer keep that heating bag on your head.
Summer: First you put a ice bag on my head and now a heating bag. You might as well throw me into the Arctic Ocean and then fly me to the sun.
Allyson: Now, now Summer you shouldn't argue with your mother. After all she is trying to make you all better.
Summer: Oh, just stop this sweet and innocent act already.
Allyson: Act? What do you mean by act?
Summer: You've gotta be kidding.
Christine: That's enough. Now I just have to get some more medicine from the store. Allyson, keep an eye on them for me.
Summer: Your leaving us alone with her?
Mike: H-h-have you l-l-lost your m-m-mind?
Christine: Now kids, I'll only be gone a couple of minutes. See ya soon *leaves out the door*
Summer: *sarcastically* This is going to be fun.
Mike: *jumps out of the ice water* Give me that heating pad!
Allyson: You won't be needing that. I'll shock you to you'll better *takes out that thing where you shock people with at the hospital (i forgot what it was called)*
Summer: That's not gonna hurt is it?
Allyson: Don't worry, I won't feel a thing.
Summer and Mike: Mommy!
Now were back to Pinky and the other on their way to the lab.
Crash: Wow, they must be miserable.
Pinky; I know. Now let's hurry.
Let's fast-forward to when they get to the lab.
Pinky: We're finally here.
Jake: Can I ask a question?
Pinky: As long as it doesn't involve big words.
Jake: Why did we spend all of that time walking here when you and Blaze could of just transformed and flew us here?
Pinky: Uh, why don't I let Blaze answer this one.
Blaze: I was just following you guys.
Pinky: Well...I figured we needed the exercise and with Crash being sick and all, oh I forgot ok? You know, it's pretty hard to do the obvious when you have 3 sick cousins and when your brain is half frozen because your archenemy blasted you with a freeze ray. What about you Jake. Why aren't you in your Dr. Science disguise?
Jake: I was waiting for you to transform into Crystal Pinky.
Pinky: We'll all change when we get into the lab, now let's go.
Jake: Can I put Crash down now?
Pinky: Just pull him in a wagon or something.
Crash: I think I can take it from here. *gets up then falls down* Guess I was wrong. Now I'm gonna go to sleep now.
Pinky: I don't care what you do, just come on.
They all go to the lab. Meanwhile D.P, Pix, and Nina are at the other end of the lab.
D.P: We're finally here. And you two haven't killed each other yet.
Pix: Right, we haven't killed each other *yet*
Nina: That doesn't mean that we won't. Well at least I won't.
Pix: Oh, please. You couldn't even crush a plastic bottle.
Nina: I could if they didn't put so much air in the bottle.
D.P: Can I just say something?
Pix: What is it?
D.P: If you guys argue one more time I'll have you fired...
Nina: That's great!
D.P: out of a cannon into space!
Nina: That's not great.
D.P: Then shut your mouths! Now lets get that device already!
Nina: You know, you do seem a little more cranky than usual.
Pix: Oh-no, please don't tell me that-
D.P: I caught your stinkin cold! I'm gonna kill you both!
Nina: Uh, don't we have a device to steal?
D.P: Oh, yeah. After we take the device, I'm gonna kill you guys.
They go in the lab also. Now back to Pinky and the others. They are in the room with the device.
Pinky: Ok, we're back in. Now all we have to do is keep the device safe so that the others don't try to take it.
Crash: Well while you guys do that, I'll just be laying here in this wagon.
Pinky: One more thing, don't get sick, ok? It's bad enough 3 of my cousins are sick and I don't want you to get sick too.
Blaze: What about me?
Pinky: Personally, I don't care what you do. Just don't bother me.
Blaze: Okey-dokey!
Crash: About that whole 'don't get sick' thing, I think it's a little too late for that. Jake's sweatin like a pig.
Jake: That doesn't mean that I'm sick. It's probably the heat from the lights that's making me sweat.
Pinky: These lights aren't even that bright. In fact two of them are blinking over there *points to the two blinking lights. One static’s and goes out* You see?
Jake: Well, maybe Sparx came and messed up the electricity.
Crash: Oh, just give it a rest already! You're sick, get over it!
Jake: But I can't be sick! Germs are my enemy and now I'll spread them.
Pinky: Well I'm trying not to get sick here so could you spread your germs away from me?
Then suddenly D.P, Pix, and Nina came into the other side.
D.P: Well, well, *sneezes* well. I see you came back for me to destroy you. *sneezes, blows nose* Man, you guys are dead.
Pix: She had the cold first.
Nina: But you gave her the cold.
Pinky: Wait a minute, all 3 of you are sick?
Pix: Yep, and it's all Nina's fault!
Nina: Sure, blame everything on me.
Pix: Well if you never got sick, I wouldn't of got sick, D.P wouldn't of got sick and everything would of been normal.
Crash: Yeah and thanks to you Summer got sick then Mike, then me, and now Jake. And now we have to hear him complaining about germs are his enemy and now he has them and blah, blah, blah.
Nina: Well if my aunt didn't force me to come on this mission, knowing I was sick, then none of this would of happened in the first place.
Crash: You're right. This is Dark Pinky's fault!
Blaze: Well just look at the bright side.
Crash: What could possibly be bright about this?
Blaze: I don't know. I was just trying to make everything better. But since me and Pinky are the only ones who aren't sick, we can stop those guys and get the device to safety. *sneezes* Well it looks like you're on your own, unless you want me to help cause I will.
Pinky: Don't worry, I'll take it from here. Since these guys are sick this should be a piece of cake.
D.P: Hey, just because I'm sick doesn't mean I still can't put up a fight. As you can tell I'm not as lazy as my minions.
Pix and Nina: Hey!
Pinky: Alright then. Crystal control! *transforms into Crystal Pinky*
Crystal P: Let's get this over with. And if you have to sneeze, please do it away from me.
D.P: Yeah, yeah. Let's just hurry up.
Blaze: Don't worry, I'll help too. *a bottle of sleeping gas rolls toward him again* Hey what's this? *sprays it and gets sleepy* Not again! *falls asleep*
Now D.P and C.P are dodging punches and lasers. They continue to fight until D.P zaps a laser at the device and it explodes.
D.P: Oops, my bad.
Crystal P: *sarcastically* This is just great! We've wasted all of this time for nothing!
Then the same scientist comes back in and sees the destroyed device.
Scientist: Oh-no! My machine!
Crystal P: It's all Dark Pinky's fault! She's the one who zapped the laser and destroyed the machine.
D.P: Don't try to blame all of this on me!
Scientist: That's ok. I'll just make another one.
Crystal P: Well since that one's toasted, can you tell us what it was suppose to do?
Scientist: I suppose I can. The device was suppose to cure colds.
Everyone: You've got to be kidding! *everyone who's sick sneezes*
Scientist: I'm not to be kidding you. One zap and your cold would be gone, but since the machine's destroyed then I guess all of you are out of luck.
Crystal P: I'm am so glad I didn't get sick after all of this.
Back to the house Pinky is in the living room with a stuffy nose (she's sick)
Pinky: I can't believe I got sick and I had to get sick at the end of the episode. *sneezes*
Everyone who's sick is in the living room (including D.P, Pix, and Nina)
Christine: I can't believe all of you got sick. I'm gonna need a lot more medicine and soup. I'm just gonna go to the store. Allyson, keep an eye on them.
Allyson: You got it. *christine leaves* Now this is gonna hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me. *takes out the shocking thing*
Everyone: AAH! Help us!!
THE END
Well that's it. I can edit some of it. I copied and pasted it from a website it was already on so that's why it's like that.

Secrets of the Night
Chapter One
Leela watched Fry as he played his heart out for her, a heart she would soon have to break. As much as she hated to do it, it had to be done. He’d done so much for her, all because he loved her. But she couldn’t love him back, and that was a fact that wasn’t going to change anytime soon. As she listened to the final notes fade, Leela watched the holophoner images of Fry and herself kiss and walk into the distance, and inside she cringed. Fry stopped playing and looked to her hopefully as Leela braced herself for what she was about to do.
“That was beautiful Fry,” she said softly, mentally slapping herself as Fry’s look of hope grew into a smile.
“It was for a beautiful person,” he said suavely, climbing down off the stage and walking towards Leela, who immediately stood up.
“Please Fry, don’t. This is going to be hard enough already,” said Leela, almost sadly. Fry’s grin instantly disappeared, “What do you mean Leela?”
“I’m sorry Fry. Really I am, the opera was wonderful but…” Leela trailed off.
“But what Leela?”
“I can’t love you; you’re not right for me.”
Fry had been moving towards Leela, but at those words he froze. The colour drained from his face and his whole body shook, with anger.
“Not right for you! I’ve done more for you then anyone, I found your parents for you, I got rid of the worms for you, I did everything I could, and I’m not right for you?” he shouted, all his pent up frustration shining through. Leela slowly backed away, not so afraid of Fry hurting her as to her hurting him.
“Try to understand Fry, we wouldn’t work,”
“Why, because you’d rather be used by jerks like Branigan?” spat Fry in disgust, trying to hide how hurt he was. Leela stopped backing up and looked at Fry with a mixture of pity and contempt.
“You wouldn’t understand Fry,”
“Try me!”
“Look, you’re my friend Fry and I care about you. But I don’t, can’t and won’t ever love you in that way, so just drop it.”
“You don’t love me because you never give me a chance!”
Leela’s patience began to wear thin and she felt her temper begin to flare up as Fry refused to give up.
“I never gave you a chance because I don’t want you damn it!” she yelled in frustration.
“Why not!” screamed Fry, not understanding how this could be happening. After everything, she still wouldn’t give him a chance.
“I wish I could tell you Fry, really I do. But there are some things that are better left unsaid.”
“This isn’t one of them Leela, just tell me why and I’ll leave you alone!” begged Fry dropping to his knees with tears streaming down his face. Leela turned away, so as not to see the heartache she had caused.
“I’m sorry Fry,” she whispered as she walked out of the opera house leaving Fry totally broken.
“I’m sorry Amy, but I have to go,” stated Kif sadly, not looking Amy in the eyes, not wanting to see the disappointment that would shine through a veil of restrained tears.
“But you have three days left!” said Amy, her voice breaking in an effort not to show how she felt.
“I know I do, but Zapp wants me now…” explained Kif, trying to block out the guilt he was feeling. At the sound of Zapp’s name, Amy burst into a rage, fuelled by jealousy and sorrow.
“Choose Kif!” she shouted, “Right now, me or him!”
“What?!” stuttered Kif in terrified realisation.
“What’s more important Kif, me or your job?” demanded Amy, almost hopeful that just once she would be more important than Kif’s job.
“You can’t ask me to choose like that!” stammered Kif, and Amy’s hopes crashed.
“Then I guess that’s answer enough, go Kif, go to your precious job and your wonderful Zappy,” said Amy, her voice loaded with venom to disguise her pain.
“Amy…” said Kif, placing a hand on Amy, who immediately flinched away.
“Get the hell off me! I never want to see you again; I wish I’d never seen you in the first place! You’re a coward Kif; you won’t even stand up to your jackass captain when you now it could save lives! Well hell to you, I hope you’ll be happy waxing his legs because we’re done!” yelled Amy, her voice rising with every word. She watched Kif’s camouflage reflex kick in with a strange satisfaction, listened to him struggle for an answer to her tirade. When she realised he couldn’t find one she span on her heel and stormed off.
Leela walked slowly along the dark streets, thinking about what she had just done to Fry. She felt guilty because she knew she had completely destroyed Fry, but she didn’t regret it. She knew things wouldn’t work for her and Fry because Fry wasn’t the type of person she wanted in life. Leela had made a lot of mistakes in her life, but they had all moved her forwards, helped her realise what she wanted. She wanted…
“Amy!” called out Leela, seeing the Asian belle slumped against a wall in tears. At the sound of her name, Amy jerked her head up.
“Who is it?” she asked, her voice overrun by sobs.
“It’s Leela,” replied Leela, slowly approaching Amy.
“Oh…I thought it might be Kif,” sniffed Amy forlornly. Leela reached Amy’s side and put a comforting arm around her.
“What happened?” asked Leela concernedly, as Amy shrugged defeated.
“He chose his job over me again,” she muttered as her tears flowed from her eyes.
“But I thought he had three days left,”
“Zapp wanted him back, so of course he went,” sighed Amy, subconsciously resting her head on Leela’s shoulder, “so I finished with him. He didn’t even try to change my mind…” Amy sobbed. Leela couldn’t find appropriate words to console Amy so she settled with gently hugging her.
“It’ll be okay Amy,” she softly reassured, not knowing what else to say as she felt Amy relax in her arms.
Leela stood there holding Amy, not knowing what to do. It was so nice to be able to comfort someone, yet Leela was beginning to feel uneasy. It was almost too nice a feeling.
“It’s getting cold, maybe we should get you home?” suggested Leela quietly. Amy lifted her head from Leela’s shoulder with an almost dazed expression on her tearstained face.
“Um…I…Thanks Leela, you’re a real friend,” mumbled Amy before almost regretfully adding, “I think I can get home on my own now, my car’s just around the corner.”
“Right, er, okay then, I’ll see you at work tomorrow, bye Amy”
“I could give you a lift if you like?” offered Amy, and Leela almost agreed, just to extend their time together.
“Yea…I mean, no thanks Amy…I need to clear my head, it’s been a confusing night,”
“Okay then,” said Amy sounding slightly dejected, “See you tomorrow Leela,”
“Tomorrow,” whispered Leela as she watched Amy walk into the distance.
Chapter two
The next morning couldn’t come quickly enough for Leela, yet when it was there it had come too soon. Leela rushed to get ready for work at whirlwind speed so she wouldn’t be late, yet part of her wished she didn’t have to go. She needed the money and she was subconsciously looking forwards to seeing Amy, but she didn’t want to deal with Fry.
“It’ll be okay, it’ll be okay, it’ll be okay,” she chanted to herself, trying to concentrate on getting dressed.
After ten minutes of struggling she managed to get into her trousers, top and boots and she then started trying to deal with her unruly hair. Dragging a brush through her wild curls she contemplated not bothering with work, before quickly dismissing the idea. She had made her bed and she was going to lie in it and besides, she had told Amy she would see her today. Not that Amy mattered that much Leela quickly told herself, shaking her head to clear dazed thoughts from her mind. Leela just wanted to check Amy was alright…and murder Kif if she wasn’t.
Amy covered her ears in a desperate attempt to block out the sound of her alarm going off. When she realised it wasn’t going to work she dragged herself out of bed and into her closet.
“I’ll have the normal please,” she mumbled, and when she walked out of the closet she was dressed in her pink tracksuit and her hair was perfect. She left her room and headed downstairs to the kitchen. As she walked she wiped away the remains as the tears she had cried the night before, as she contemplated the events that had unfurled. Kif was gone, and it was her fault. Oh if only she hadn’t made him choose between her and his job, she should have known it was useless, that she was never going to come above his job. Then again, maybe it was a good thing, the fact that he had chosen his job over her again showed her where she stood in his eyes, and it wasn’t high enough. Now that she thought about it, the brake up with Kif meant she was free to find someone who cared about her, who would put her above everything else. As soon as the thought entered her head a mental picture formed. It was Leela. Amy shook her head, throwing the picture from her mind, though not quickly enough to stop her wondering what it meant in her subconscious. Slowly, she put together an answer. An obvious answer when she thought about it. When Amy had broken up with Kif, the first and so far only person to comfort her was Leela. That Amy remembered how soft Leela’s shoulder was when she rested her head on it or that Amy remembered the scent of the perfume Leela was wearing meant nothing. The fact that Amy had liked it when Leela put her arms around her also meant nothing. The feeling of regret when she had left the warm embrace or the sadness when Leela had declined Amy’s offer of a lift home, all of it didn’t mean anything. So why was Amy wishing she had stayed in the cold with Leela?
By the time Leela had managed to get her hair into a ponytail it was almost time for her to be at work. Not understanding why it had taken her so long to get ready, Leela skipped breakfast and headed out to the street. She all but ran to the nearest transport tube and shouted
“Planet Express Building!” and she was instantly sucked up and along the twisting tube towards her job. To take her mind off the journey she let her thoughts wonder. Would Fry be at work today? If he was then how would he be around her? Leela hoped he didn’t hate her for what she had done to him, because she loved him as a friend, and even though it could never be more then that, Leela would miss Fry if he blocked her out completely.
“Not that I could blame him,” Leela muttered to herself. She had known when she asked Fry to keep playing that she was going to break his heart, she had planned how to do it so it would hurt him, because she knew it was the only way the message would get through. Though she would never let anyone know, it had hurt her to hurt him, to see the light in his eyes brighten and then go out, all because of her. Leela wished that there had been another way, but there hadn’t been. If she had gone out with him then she would have dumped him sooner or later and that would have hurt him worse, and he would have carried on chasing her, thinking that if she would go out with him once then she would do it again. The way she had done it was better, although it had completely crushed him, he would get over it, and when he did he would stop chasing her, she hoped. If he didn’t stop then Leela have to resort to telling him why she didn’t want him, though she hoped it wouldn’t come to that. It was a secret she’d been hiding since she had broken up with Chaz, and she didn’t really want anyone to find out about it. If she told anyone then she could imagine what would happen, the way she’d be treated differently, the looks she would get because of it, it was better to keep it a secret unless she had to tell anyone. Leela wondered how things would have been if she’d been more like Amy, if she had more confidence with guys and she’d had a decent education, and if she had money to spare. Maybe she wouldn’t be hiding her secret now; maybe she wouldn’t have it at all.
Leela wondered if Amy was going to be okay. Leela knew that Amy had loved Kif and the fact that Kif had picked his job over Amy must have hurt her a lot. Leela was glad she had found Amy when she had, or heaven knows what would have happened to her. Leela smiled slightly as she remembered how Amy had relaxed in her arms and rested her head on Leela’s shoulder, how Amy’s tears how slowed to stop as Leela held her gently. Leela had enjoyed being able to provide comfort for once, the feeling that she could make everything better, and protect Amy from hurt just by holding her. Just by caring. It wasn’t the same motherly protectiveness she felt for Fry and Bender, it was so much more. It was a need to sooth Amy’s pain mixed with disbelief that Kif could be as stupid as to let Amy go. If Leela had been Kif she wouldn’t have let go, she would have fought to hold onto Amy even if it cost her job. Leela deliberately cut off herself there, deciding it wasn’t wise to venture into that train of thought. Yet as she whirled though the transport tube she couldn’t help but remember the night before. The smell of Amy’s perfume, the softness of her hair, how it had felt to hold her and the confusing throng of emotions that had started over taking Leela’s heart and clouding her mind. Leela sighed softly and closed her eye, letting the memory take her over; until she was brought back to earth with a bump as the tube spat her out onto the concrete. Standing up slowly, Leela looked up at the Planet Express building and ran a hand through her hair. It was going to be a hell of a day.
Amy relaxed in her car as she cruised to work; the control she felt in her car was hard to get elsewhere and so she enjoyed it while she could. Sure she could get guys at will, and she had more money than she knew what to do with, but she never really felt in control. The same way she was never that confident in herself, she knew she was a klutz and she felt under constant pressure to keep her slim feminine figure. Sometimes she wished she could be more like Leela, self-confident and self-sufficient, strong and athletic and commanding. Like last night, when Amy had been an emotional wreck, Leela had been there to take control and help Amy calm down. Amy remembered Leela’s strong arms wrapped around her, protecting and soothing her, instead of taking advantage of her like guys would have done. The way Leela had been so caring, so sincere. It had been nice for Amy to feel like she was being put first, just for once. Amy’s reverie was broken by blaring horns hailing the fact that she was on the wrong side of the road. Swerving back on track, Amy pulled into the Planet Express employees parking zone, or as Amy called it, the grubby strip of tarmac behind the hell hole. As she got out of her car she was struck by a thought. Why hadn’t Leela been with Fry last night? Surely after the opera they were together so why had Leela been alone? Amy looked up at the Planet Express building; it was going to be an interesting day.
Chapter three
Leela paused at the Planet Express entrance; wondering if Amy was already in there, wondering if Fry was there telling Amy what she had done. Leela’s breath hitched at the thought, what would Amy think of Leela when she heard how Leela had broken Fry’s heart and wouldn’t tell him why. Leela panicked as she imagined Amy’s reaction, would she be disgusted at Leela’s treatment of Fry, would she hate Leela for being so callous with Fry’s feelings? Leela wasn’t sure she could handle it if Amy hated her, or even disliked her now. Leela was torn between running into the boardroom and finding out if Amy and Fry were in there or running away so she wouldn’t have to. Leela felt her breathing speed up and she slowly lost hold of her tightly reigned self-control, terrified of entering the boardroom and finding Amy hating her. Fighting to maintain control of herself Leela frantically told herself that Amy might not even be in there, Fry might not be in there, but her mind screamed what if they are inside? She asked herself why it mattered so much if Amy hated her, her mind told her that it just did. It brought pictures of the night before, of Leela holding Amy, caring for Amy, lovin…Leela cut herself off abruptly, refusing to listen. It was impossible, Leela and Amy had done nothing but snipe at each other since Leela had joined Planet Express, apart from rare moments, there was no way Leela’s feelings could change overnight. Yet her mind insisted on bringing up the night before, asking Leela if that was what people who disliked each other did? Leela had no answer, just the frantic beating of her heart warning her.
“Keep Out. Don’t Look. Keep Out. Don’t Look!” it told her, urging her to run, not to risk finding out that Amy hated her. Half of Leela didn’t want to find out and half of her needed to.
“Are you okay?” asked a voice behind Leela, breaking her out of her reverie and making her spin round to face her questioner.
It was Amy. Leela looked in disbelief, Amy wasn’t in the boardroom, she was outside, not with Fry. Which meant, Leela realised, she didn’t know what Leela had done. She didn’t know which meant she didn’t hate Leela. Leela felt tears rise to her eye and she struggled to blink them back, she was relieved yet she wanted to cry. She stared at Amy a little more before giving into her urges and sinking to the ground, bringing her knees up to her chest and rocking herself slowly back and forth, letting her tears roll freely. Amy looked puzzled by Leela’s behaviour, which was so different to her normal controlled attitude, before realising something must be wrong and worrying.
“Leela, what’s wrong?” she questioned, her voice full of concern. Leela looked at Amy through a veil of tears, before answering in a choked whisper.
“I thought you hated me,”
Whatever answer Amy had expected it hadn’t been that, a puzzled frown etching itself on her face.
“Why would I hate you? Especially after last night,”
“Because…because of what I did to Fry…” sobbed Leela, staring at Amy, looking for any sign of disgust. Amy’s puzzled look increased tenfold, wondering what the hell Fry had to do with Leela’s current state.
“What did you do to Fry that could make me hate you?”
“I broke his heart Amy, and I wouldn’t tell him why I was doing it! I thought you were in there and he’d told you and you’d be disgusted and hate me!” rambled Leela, her tears pouring out. Amy didn’t know what to say, seeing Leela in such an upset state was bad enough, but the fact that she was in that state because she thought Amy would hate her was mind boggling. Amy looked at Leela in tears on the floor and felt the urge to do something, so she crouched down beside her and cupped Leela’s cheeks in her hands, forcing Leela to look directly into her eyes.
“Leela, whatever happened between you and Fry is between you two okay, I don’t hate you,” she said softly, using her thumbs to wipe away Leela’s tears.
“I couldn’t stand it if you hated me Amy!” wept Leela hysterically.
“Shush, its okay Leela, I don’t hate you,” reassured Amy, “but why does it matter so much to you?”
“I don’t know and I can’t stand it! All I know is something changed Amy, and you can’t hate me!”
“I don’t hate you,” repeated Amy, slowly standing up, pulling Leela up with her. “Now tell me exactly what happened with you and Fry to make you lose control like this,”
“I told him I couldn’t love him and it wouldn’t work, I said he wasn’t right for me and he wouldn’t understand if I told him why, I yelled at him that I never gave him a chance because I didn’t want him, and I wouldn’t tell him why,” sniffled Leela, not looking at Amy’s face. Amy gently turned Leela’s face to hers again.
“Tell me why Leela, whatever it is I promise I won’t hate you,”
“I can’t Amy, you say now you wouldn’t hate me, but you would, everyone would,” insisted Leela, her tears drying as she tried to look away from Amy’s face, but Amy wouldn’t let her.
“I won’t hate you Leela,”
“You’ll be disgusted with me then,”
“I won’t, I promise,”
“You can’t promise me that!”
“I can and I am, now please Leela, tell me what’s wrong,”
Leela looked into Amy’s eyes searchingly, not saying a word to break the silence Amy’s question had left. Amy accepted Leela’s searching gaze unflinchingly, holding her tongue, know that if Leela was going to tell her she would do it in her own time. Leela broke off her search and paused to consider what she had seen in Amy’s eyes, honesty, sincerity, concern and worry, and maybe something else. Leela opened her mouth to say something then thought better of it. She looked at Amy again and then she made her decision.
“I can’t tell you Amy…” began Leela, putting a finger to Amy’s lips as she started to protest, “So I’ll show you,”
In a single swift movement Leela removed her finger and kissed Amy. Amy tensed in shock and surprise before relaxing under Leela’s warm lips, enjoying the sensation they brought while it lasted. The kiss was different to any Amy had ever experienced before, which was defiantly saying something, it was soft and gently, it would have been innocent if not for the underlying passion.
Then it was gone, as Leela suddenly pulled back.
“I’m a lesbian Amy, and I think I love you,” whispered Leela, watching Amy’s blissfully stunned face for a reaction. It took a few minutes for the words to sink in, and when they did Amy’s face became serious.
“Are you sure Leela?” asked Amy, not smiling nor frowning, instead keeping her face neutral as she looked at Leela’s terrified face, know how hard it must have been for Leela to admit her secret, and to answer Amy’s question.
“I’m sure Amy; I’ve never felt like this before. It came so suddenly to me yet so strongly, I’m in love with you,” said Leela quietly, but certainly. Amy took a moment to consider, and for a second Leela honestly believed that Amy was going to turn away. She didn’t, instead she slipped her arms around Leela’s neck and pressed her lips to Leela’s in a chaste kiss.
“Then I love you too,” Amy murmured into Leela’s ear, so close that Leela could feel the heat of Amy’s breath. Leela pulled back to examine Amy’s flushed face.
“Are you sure Amy?”
“Yes, I wasn’t until last night but I am now,”
“Good,” replied Leela, letting Amy pull her in for another quick kiss. As their lips met, there came an anguished scream from behind them. They broke apart and turned to face the screamer, a familiar red haired man. Amy’s hand flew to her bruised lips and Leela swore violently.
“Shit! Talk about bad timing,” she cursed. Amy and Fry looked at her ludicrously.
“This is why you wouldn’t date me! You’re a lesbian with Amy!”
“Yes! No! I mean I…” stammered Leela.
“Which is it?!” demanded Fry.
“Both, I’m a lesbian but I wasn’t with Amy until this morning,” explained Leela, desperate for Fry to understand, “I didn’t want you to find out this way Fry, I swear!”
“How did you want me to find out?!” yelled Fry angrily, “After I made a fool of myself in front of hundreds of people? Oh wait a minute, I’ve already done that!”
“I’m sorry! I tried telling you to leave me alone but you wouldn’t listen!”
“You never said you were a lesbian!”
“I shouldn’t have had too! Damn it Fry, if you cared about me so much you would have left me alone when I asked you to instead of acting stupid!”
“Fine, I’ll leave you alone! I hope you and Amy are happy together! Happy?!”
“No Fry! I want to be your friend, can’t you understand that concept?”
“Obviously I’m too STUPID!”
“For god’s sake Fry, grow up! I’m a lesbian, I’m with Amy and I don’t want to go out with you, so deal with it and then we can still be friends. Until then I don’t want to know,”
“What!”
“Come on Amy,” said Leela, taking Amy’s hand and leading her inside the Planet Express building, closely followed by a very disgruntled Fry.
Chapter Four
Leela marched into the boardroom and sat down, pulling Amy who sat next to her. They were followed by Fry who took the seat furthest away from the two women, a mixture of pain and dejection plainly on his face as he glared at them in stony silence. They made a point of ignoring him by gazing into each others eyes and holding hands under the table.
They continued to hold hands and gaze at each other until Bender finally decided to grace the crew with his presence, over an hour late. After Bender had taken his seat Hermes stood up.
“Now we’re all here, I can tell ya there’s no delivery’s today, so ya all get the day off.”
A series of cheers swept the room, apart from Fry who was too busy glaring at Leela to notice the announcement.
“Now before I let ya go is there anymore news?” asked Hermes. Fry shot Leela and Amy a poisonous smirk before speaking.
“I think Amy and Leela have something to say Hermes,” he said innocently as Amy and Leela looked at each other again, this time in panic.
“Really, what is it?” questioned Hermes, his voice curious. Amy raised an eyebrow at Leela, who nodded slightly. They both stood up, holding hands, and braced themselves.
“Leela and I love each other,” Amy revealed. Bender choked on his cigar, the professor woke up and Hermes struggled to find a suitable phrase.
“Sweet chimpanzee of Tennessee, you’re lesbians!” he managed to splutter after a few minutes of incoherence.
“Yes we are,” confirmed Leela.
“But how will you meatbags output? Damn you, I just start understanding you skintoobs and you go and confuse me again!” yelled Bender.
“Sorry Bender, but its just the way we feel,” said Leela, looking at Amy lovingly. Hermes looked thoughtful for a moment, before asking, “So that means ya’re a couple right?”
“Yeah,” answered Amy and Leela in perfect unison, surprising themselves.
“So that means I can knock ya down to a couples wage!” announced Hermes gleefully.
“What!”
“Now off ya go people, it’s a day off!”
“But…”
“Shoo, I got papers to requisition,”
Leela and Amy strolled down the street, enjoying each others company.
“Everyone took the news better then I thought they would,” commented Leela, slipping her arm around Amy’s waist to deter the looks of men who might try to ‘steal’ her. Amy took a sideways glance at Leela and snickered.
“What’s so funny?” demanded Leela teasingly.
“You look at everyone like they’re a threat, but you should know I love you,” giggled Amy, resting her head on Leela’s shoulder.
“Good, because I love you too,” said Leela, holding Amy’s waist a little tighter.
“So what do you want to do?” asked Amy.
“I was thinking a walk around the park, if that’s okay with you?”
“Sounds great,” replied Amy, smiling broadly as Leela steered her towards the park. She smiled up until Leela jolted to a sudden stop, looking pale. Amy’s grin was quickly replaced by a worried frown.
“Leela, what’s up?”
“I saw someone I knew,” choked Leela, staring through the crowded park to a slim, brown haired woman with glasses.
“Who?” asked Amy, slowly becoming uncomfortable with Leela’s hungry eye.
“Daniela, my first girlfriend,” murmured Leela quietly, “I haven’t seen her since we broke up…”
“Whoa, back up a minute. I never knew you had a girlfriend,”
“Because I never told anyone, which is one of the reasons she ended with me…”
“We need to talk,” Daniela told Leela, her voice barely above a whisper. Leela knew that it was serious; her girlfriend only used the quiet voice when something was wrong.
“What is it? Is something wrong?”
“Everything’s wrong Leela, I can’t do this anymore,”
“W…what do you mean? What can’t you do anymore?”
“I can’t stand hiding us anymore. Sometimes I think you’re ashamed of me Leela, and the thought hurts.”
“Then don’t think it, it’s not true! You know I love you,”
“But I don’t know that for sure anymore Leela. You won’t even tell you’re workmates about us!”
“It’s not that easy Daniela,”
“Why not, because I’m a woman like you? Are you ashamed of being a lesbian? Or are you just ashamed of me?”
“Of course not, you’re being ridiculous!”
“Am I? What’s so ridiculous about wanting everyone to know about us? We are a couple aren’t we, or am I just the girl you go to when you need a pick-me up?”
“Come on Dannie, I promise we can tell everyone soon, just give me a little more time,”
“Don’t you ‘come on Dannie’ me, its not that easy this time! You keep telling me you’ll tell everyone, that you need more time, well what if I’m tired of waiting? What then?”
“Don’t be like that, you know I want to tell everyone, but I can’t right now.”
“Why not?”
“It’s complicated, I need to work something out,”
“You’ve had three months to ‘work something out’, and I’ve had enough of it. Either we tell people by tomorrow or I’m leaving,”
“Please Dannie, I can’t!”
“Then I guess this is goodbye. I’ll miss you Leela, just like I love you, but I won’t keep on hiding.”
“Dannie please, just give me more time!”
“I gave you as much time as I could, my heart can’t take it anymore Leela. I love you but I won’t break my heart waiting for you,” declared Daniela softly, as she walked out the door and out of Leela’s life. Leela sank to her knees and cried.
“That’s horrid! How could she do that, just walk out on you like that?!” spat Amy.
“It was my fault, she waited for me to tell people but I just kept on stalling. She was a brilliant, caring, kind and compassionate person, everything I wanted, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell everyone. She was so patient, accepting my excuses, my pleas for more time, never complaining about it that much. It broke my heart when she left, because I knew I could have stopped her if I’d just been a bit braver, if I’d told people. I still miss her sometimes you know,” admitted Leela sadly, unaware that Amy had stiffened considerable.
“You still miss her?” asked Amy sharply, suddenly making Leela realise what was wrong.
“I meant I did miss her,” stammered Leela, racing to correct herself. She took her arm from Amy’s waist and grasped both her hands instead, forcing Amy to look her in the eye. “I missed her before I fell in love with you,”
Amy looked at Leela, watched Leela’s worried face stare back at her, “Are you sure you love me?” she questioned.
“Of course I’m sure! I’m sorry I said anything!” apologized Leela. Amy tilted her head to one side and smiled.
“I forgive you, just this once,” she smirked, before giving Leela a quick peck on the lips. Leela sighed with relief, until she noticed something.
“Oh god…she’s coming over!”
“What!”
“Dannie…I mean Daniela, she’s coming over!” gaped Leela in shock.
Daniela strode over casually, but purposefully, towards Amy and Leela.
“Hi Leela, long time no see,” she smiled friendlily. Leela opened her mouth to answer but her throat was bone dry and she couldn’t make a sound. Amy noticed Leela’s reaction and felt a wave of jealousy sweep her.
“Hello, you must be Daniela,” she said, forcing herself to smile, “Leela’s told me so much about you,”
“Really? I hope it wasn’t anything bad,” Daniela laughed, “Anyway, I didn’t catch your name,”
“I’m Amy Wong, Leela’s girlfriend,” stated Amy, stressing the word girlfriend.
“Wow, that’s wonderful news! I’m so glad that Leela found someone she’s not ashamed to be with and can be happy with,” grinned Daniela, though her choice of words made Leela flinch, “So how long have you been dating?”
“We just started today,” said Amy warily.
“Well, I’m sure you’ll be together for a long time, Leela’s a wonderful person, most of the time,” said Daniela with a chuckle.
“I know she is,” Amy agreed, beginning to relax, “She’s not a bad kisser either,”
“Don’t I know it! Anyway, I gotta go, places to be, people to see. Maybe I’ll see you guys later,” said Daniela, starting to walk away.
“Maybe, bye than,” waved Amy.
“Bye Amy…and Leela,” Daniela replied with a wave over her shoulder. When she was gone Amy turned to Leela.
“She seemed nice,”
“I know,” said Leela, watching Daniela disappear into the distance.
Chapter five
Fry kicked a can out of the way as he walked down the street with his head down, bitterly disappointed at how well everyone had taken the news about Amy and Leela. It wasn’t fair, he’d done wonderful things for Leela and she wouldn’t give him a chance, instead she went and left with Amy, who’d done nothing but be mean since the day Leela walked into Planet Express. It was twisted, maybe if he hadn’t tried so hard Leela would have noticed him, noticed him and dated him. Fry felt humiliated, why had she let him play the opera if she had known it was no good? Why hadn’t she stopped him? Even though Fry knew it wouldn’t have worked she could have at least tried, instead of letting him embarrass himself in front of hundreds of people. Now everyone knew he was a failure, and an idiot for giving back the hands. Now Fry was going to be alone, after everything he’d done he was still going to be alone, and the thought alone sucked.
Fry’s barrage of thoughts and regrets was cut off when he walked into someone, causing them to both fall over.
“Damn I’m such a klutz,” swore a distinctly feminine voice, causing Fry’s head to jerk up and look. On the ground before him was a woman with messy blonde hair with a pair of glasses framing hazel eyes. She quickly picked herself off the ground and Fry could now she was quite tall and curvy.
“Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going, let me help you up,” she offered, holding out her hand expectantly. Fry took it and was surprised at her firm grip as she pulled him up and ran her eyes over his body and face, making him blush slightly.
“Thanks for helping me up,” said Fry tentatively, watching her examine him. After she finished her quick inspection she waved off his thanks and smiled.
“No problem, it was my fault after all. I’m Juliet by the way, and you are?” she demanded, though her voice was soft.
“I…I’m Phillip, but everyone calls me Fry,” he managed to stammer in reply. As soon as he answered a look of shock covered her face and she re-scrutinized his face.
“You’re Phillip Fry, the holophoner? I can’t believe I didn’t recognize you; I was at your opera last night!”
At that revelation Fry blushed even harder, “Yeah, I’m sorry the ending was bad though…” began Fry before he was cut off.
“I thought the ending was lovely, I could tell it was from the heart.”
“You stayed for the ending?!”
“Well yeah, it was wonderful, if a bit shaky. That Leela woman you wrote it for is very lucky,”
“I wish she thought so,”
“What do you mean?”
“She wouldn’t go out with me, she prefers other women,” said Fry coldly
“Oh…I’m so sorry,” apologized Juliet, quickly feeling embarrassed.
“Don’t worry about it, you didn’t know,” said Fry, his voice warmer, “It’s just a bit upsetting you know. I wrote an opera for her and she wait until after to tell me she’s not interested in my gender.”
A sly smile appeared on Juliet’s face as she looked at Fry’s sad expression, an idea already forming in her mind. The guy was cute, maybe to the point of sexy, he was obviously caring if he’d wrote an opera for the girl he loved, and at that moment, he was upset. Juliet saw her chance and took it.
“Do you want to talk about it? We could go and have a coffee at Starbucks or something…if you like,” she said, forcing her voice to sound shy and nervous. He fell for it hook, line and sinker, looking at her and smiling.
“Sure, that could be nice, and you can tell me more about yourself,”
“Great! Shall we go now then?” she asked, grinning widely.
“Okay,” agreed Fry match her grin with one of her own, as he gently took her hand and led her to a café.
Amy watched Leela gaze after Daniela’s distant figure with a twinge of annoyance.
“You okay Leela?” she asked, breaking into Leela’s reverie.
“Wha…yeah, I’m fine. It was just a shock to see Dannie, I mean Daniela, after so long it all.”
“I’ll bet, seeing your first major girlfriend again must have brought up all sorts of buried emotions,” spat Amy darkly, causing Leela to stare at Amy in puzzlement.
“What’s the matter with you?”
“Spleese, nothing, not a thing, except my girlfriend’s pining after her ex!”
“I’m not pining after her; I just never expected to see her again so I was surprised,”
“Which is why you couldn’t speak when she was here and you’re staring after her with a puppy dog eye looking like the worlds about to fall apart!” huffed Amy, pulling herself away as Leela tried to grasp her hands.
“Amy, of course I’m not gonna be able to speak around her and I’m going to stare after her to first few times we meet her, she was my first girlfriend! What you’ve gotta remember is that even though I stare at her, its you I love now, and I need your support,”
“What about me Leela? I don’t like the way you look at her, so hungry and longing, it’s almost like I’m a bad replacement!”
“That’s not true Amy! I want you, not her, you!”
“Then why do you look at her the way you do? I don’t understand it!”
“I look at her that way I do because I loved her! Feelings that strong don’t just fade away Amy, I was with her for months before I wrecked everything! So I’m sorry if the first time I see her after she walked out of my life I’m a little shocked!” yelled Leela, tears forming in her eye. Amy could hear how upset Leela was so she turned and wrapped her arms around Leela’s waist.
“Okay, I’m sorry Leela. I just got jealous, you’re the first person to really put me first for once and I don’t want to lose you to someone else. Can you forgive me?” she asked gently, wiping away Leela’s tears.
“Of course I can,” sniffed Leela, “I love you,”
“I love you too,” whispered Amy, before softly kissing Leela tenderly on the lips. The kiss was short but loaded with passion and it left Leela breathless. Holding onto each others hands, they resumed their walk.
Fry gazed across the table at Juliet who was smiling sweetly.
“So tell me about yourself,” he said suavely, making Juliet’s face redden.
“Well, I‘m from the early 21st Century, I froze myself when I was 18 and I’ve been in the future for five years so I’m 23.”
“Wow, I was frozen too!”
“No way! When were you frozen?”
“At the end of the 20th Century, when I was twenty. I was defrosted at the start of the 31st Century so I’ve been here for about five years too! Right now I’m twenty-five,”
“That’s amazing!
“So are you,” murmured Fry smoothly, making Juliet blush even harder.
“I’m nothing much, just a girl all alone in the big city…with nowhere to stay,”
“You could stay at mine,” blurted out Fry, not thinking in through before the words were out. Juliet pretended to look thoughtful, but inside she was grinning triumphantly. He’d fallen for it, the lost girl act worked every time.
“I suppose I could …if you really don’t mind,” she said slowly, making sure to hesitate at the right moment.
“Of course I don’t mind!” reassured Fry, oblivious to the sly, devious look that had appeared in Juliet’s eyes.
“Then that would be fantastic,”
Chapter six
While they had been walking, Amy and Leela’s hands had parted; instead Leela’s arm was around Amy’s waist as they strolled through the park, in a comfortable quiet. The sounds of other people seemed dulled, not penetrating their blissful companionship. The argument from earlier had cleared the air between them making them rest easy, knowing that they understood each other perfectly, with nothing hidden.
At least, Amy believed there was nothing hidden, but Leela knew better. Leela knew there was something hidden because she was the one hiding it. She had lied to Amy and she felt guilty, but it had been for the best. If Amy knew that she was lying, that she wasn’t over Daniela, it didn’t bear thinking about. She could imagine Amy’s reaction, the flash of confusion that would flash across her beautiful features, which would be quickly replaced with anger, and then the raw pain, it always ended in pain.
Every time Leela ended it with someone there was always pain, Daniela had been the first one to dump Leela, to teach her about the pure agony when someone you loved didn’t love you back. It was a lesson that Leela had never forgotten which was why she had decided it would be better not to tell Amy about her craving for Daniela, that it would be better to pretend she was happy and save them both from hurt. She had decide that she would just ignore the aching that had started coming with every beat of her heart since she had seen Daniela, it had faded before and it would do again, with time.
But what could Leela do in the mean time, and what if she saw Daniela again? What if she couldn’t contain herself next time? It would be humiliating and disappointing, and again there would be pain. Leela realised she would have to work harder than ever before, she would have to hide her feelings again, but this time it was from the person she really loved and not from everyone else. Leela felt filthy inside, she was as good as using Amy as a pick me up, just like she’d used Fry, and she disgusted herself. The only consolation Leela could offer herself was the fact she did feel something for Amy, not as strongly as she felt for Daniela, but the feelings were still there. For now they would have to do.
Once Daniela knew she was out of Amy and Leela’s sight she slowed her pace while she flicked her long brown hair over her shoulder and sighed. It had hurt her slightly to see that Leela had gotten over her already, while she was lingering in the past, Leela had gotta a beautiful new girlfriend while Daniela was left alone. The brief meeting had reopened old wounds that Daniela had fought so hard to heal, forcing her to remember how she had coped after she had walked away.
Daniela sat on the couch in her living room, in the apartment she had brought to share with Leela. The TV was on but Daniela didn’t know which channel or programme was onscreen, she couldn’t focus properly. It was the second week after her break-up with Leela and she was beginning to accept that Leela wasn’t going to call and say that she was sorry, that she would tell everyone about them and they could be happy. Daniela felt like her heart couldn’t be mended, she had left Leela in the hope that it would shock her into action, instead Leela had given up and Daniel had never felt so alone, even the hidden meetings were better than this, this infinite loneliness, thinking that she was the only one who cared or knew about the break-up. Her friends had already been around to cheer her up, but she couldn’t tell them why she was so upset, Leela had wanted her to wait until they could tell everyone they were together and how could Daniela tell her friends about a break-up when they didn’t know about the relationship. After the first week they had gotten frustrated and left her to wallow in lost chances and her despair…
Daniela shook her head to clear the memories, not wanting old feelings; old pain to add to her present emotionally injured state. She had moved on from then and become stronger, she had thrown herself into her work and risen through the ranks to the top, she had no reason to be upset. She was the deputy boss at a huge business, she was on talking terms with the mayor, she had earned vast amounts of money and she was friends with an infamous woman, she was meant to be happy! But she wasn’t, because for all her friends and all her money, she was trapped in a void of loneliness. Sighing again she checked her watch, and gasped. She had fifteen minutes to get to the ‘Fire Dancers’ bar and meet her friend, she was going to have to hurry. She quickened up and started to run.
Juliet smirked slightly at Fry’s triumphant face, her mind going into overdrive with various plans and thoughts. Glancing at her watch, her smirk froze, she had fifteen minutes to meet up with the only friend who would put up with her, and Juliet knew she couldn’t be late.
“Damn it!” she swore, catching Fry’s attention instantly.
“What’s up?” he asked, a hint of concern tingeing his voice. Juliet ran a hand through her hair and put a disappointed look on her face.
“Can you give me the address Fry, its just I really have to meet up with one of my friends and I can’t be late,” she explained, “I’d invite you too but it’s a girly chat, you know.”
“Sure, no problem,” said Fry cheerfully, producing a piece of paper and a pen and writing down his address, “come whenever you like!”
“Oh I will do, now I gotta run, so later Fry,” said Juliet, planting quick kiss on Fry’s cheek and racing out of the café.
Daniela stormed down the street, her feet pounding the pavement as she rapidly approached the bar. She reached the entrance gasping for breath, but on time. She neatened her attire and went inside to find a spare table or her friend, and checking the bar area confirmed her expectations, she had to find a table. She scanned the crowd for an empty table and managed to spot one near the front.
Five minutes after she sat down, her friend all but fell inside, her face red and she was wheezing. Daniela had to laugh, her friend pretended to be all graceful but inside she was anything but. Having pity on her exhorted friend she called her over.
“Hey Juliet, over here!” she shouted over the noise of the bars other customers. Juliet glanced to Daniela and dragged herself into a seat.
“Sorry…I’m…late,” she panted, wiping sweat off her forehead.
“No problem, I got used to it after the first twenty times,” chuckled Daniela. Catching her breath, Juliet playfully glared.
“I’m not that bad, and besides…I found a live one!” she exclaimed.
“Oh Juliet, not again! You said you’d stop after Justin was institutionalised,”
“I know, but I couldn’t help it, this one’s cute!”
“They were all cute, and now they’re all depressed, in jail or dead!”
“Yeah, but that’s not my fault, they shouldn’t chase what they can’t handle,”
“Chase you? You lead them on!”
“Well, maybe a little bit…Anyway, it’s still not my fault they can’t handle it when I leave!”
“What they can’t handle is you leaving with all their money and all their stuff,”
“A girls gotta make a living somehow,” said Juliet, as if that justified everything, Daniela just smiled.
Chapter seven
“So then, who is this ‘live one?” asked Daniela with grin, causing Juliet to sigh softly.
“Oh he’s the cutest redhead I’ve ever seen, he could use some toning but he’s adorable anyway, so sweet!” murmured Juliet as she imagined his face smiling at her.
“So does that mean you’ll actually stay with this one, maybe settle down?” quizzed Daniela hopefully, making Juliet laugh out loud.
“Hell no! I plan on getting all I can out of him and ditching him like I did with the others, his cute and caring personality is just an added bonus,” she chortled, her whole body shaking with mirth.
“Oh well,” muttered Daniela, “What’s his name?”
“You won’t believe it, but you know that famous holophoner player that bombed out last night?”
“Yes…wait a minute, you don’t mean that he the ‘live one’ do you?”
“I do!” squealed Juliet gleefully, “I’m dating the Phillip J Fry! This is the big one Danni, I can get what I need and then I can live in comfort!”
“Oh no, no way Jaws, you can’t do this,” murmured Daniela.
“What do you mean I can? I already am, I used the lost girl act on him and now I’m staying at his apartment!” giggled Juliet.
“No, really Juliet, you can’t do this. Leela works with Fry,” explained Daniela.
“Your point being?”
“If you go out with Fry then you’ll have to meet Leela, and you won’t want to meet her alone so you’ll drag me along!”
“Danni, get to the point already!”
“Leela was my ex! I saw her today and she has a new girlfriend, I do not want to have to see her again!”
“Who says I’ll be with Fry long enough to meet Leela and his other work mates? You worry too much Danni.”
Daniela gave a long suffering sigh, “With you around Jaws, I don’t worry enough,”
Fry left the café with a spring in his step. Only this morning he’d been depressed and unhappy and now it felt like he was flying. His life seemed brighter, and it was all down to bumping into someone.
“Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night,” muttered Fry dreamily, “or should that be, this day?”
He drifted towards the park in a haze, not really concentrating on anything except the vision in his head. That was until, he bumped into someone.
“Oh sorry,” he apologized.
“You will be you goddamn…Fry?”
The voice brought Fry back down to earth with a crash, it was Leela. Looking up at in the direction of the voice Fry saw it was indeed Leela, and with her was Amy.
“Sorry Leela, for this morning as well as just now. If Amy makes you happy then be with her,” Fry said, drawing shocked gasps from the two women, who glanced at each other before examining Fry to check if he was ill.
“Are you okay Fry, I mean, its good to know you accept Amy and me but what’s brought on the sudden change?”
“I’m in love,” stated Fry simply. Leela and Amy glanced at each other again, exchanging worried looks.
“How?” asked Amy, studying Fry like he was a child that needed protecting.
“I was walking down the street and she bumped into me. She said she had seen the opera, all of it, and she had liked it, even the end. I told her what had happen and she cared, so we went to a café to talk about it. I found out some things about her as well, she was frozen in the early 21st century and she’s twenty-three, she also had nowhere to stay so I offered to let her stay at mine. She accepted, but then she had to go and meet her friend for a girly chat so I’ll see her tonight and I’m in love!” explained Fry, blurting out all of the details.
“What’s her name?” asked Leela quickly, an extremely concerned look entering her eye.
“Juliet, she’s tall with messy blonde hair, and glasses that frame her eyes,”
“Oh crap!” swore Leela, making Fry and Amy jump.
“What is it?” demanded Amy, just beating Fry to the question.
“Don’t you see, its Juliet Checkland!” shouted Leela, and Amy yelped as she recognized the name.
“It can’t be her, why would she choose Fry?”
“Don’t you get it; she goes for the ones she can get the most out of! Fry’s kind and caring, and a famous holophoner with a big bank balance!”
“You’re right, and she’s already tricked Fry into loving her!”
“HOLD IT!” yelled Fry, “What the hell are you two talking about!”
Leela took a deep breath, “Juliet Checkland, is a gold digger. She goes from man to man taking their money and whatever else she can get her filthy hands on,”
“Liar!” said Fry coldly, “I don’t believe you two, I accept you after you break my heart and you try and make me leave the girl who’s healing it.”
“She’s telling the truth Fry! Juliet is a tragedy for the men she meets. It’s up to you what you do; we just don’t want you to get hurt,” soothed Amy
“You mean you want to be the only ones to hurt me, you both disgust me. You deserve each other!” spat Fry as he stormed off, leaving a disgruntled Leela and Amy behind.
Chapter eight
Leela and Amy watched Fry storm off with identical looks of concern on their faces.
“Damn it,” swore Amy softly under her breath, “She’s already got to him!”
Leela slipped her arm around Amy, “Why do I get the feeling this is our fault?” she asked sadly as Fry got further into the distance. Amy sighed and rested her head on Leela’s shoulder.
“Because in a way it is our fault, we made him an easy target for her.”
“We have to do something to help him, she’ll tear him apart,” insisted Leela. Amy lifted her head off Leela’s shoulder.
“She’d just be finishing the job.”
Leela sadly nodded in agreement, and they both continued their walk through the park.
The romantic mood had gone and Amy could tell that Leela wanted to go home; Amy could also tell that Leela was concerned for Fry and though Amy knew it was silly she felt a small bubble of jealously again.
“I’m getting a bit hungry, wanna head over to Elzar’s, or we could head to my apartment and get some Chinese and a holo-film on the way back if you’d prefer?” suggested Amy, telling herself mentally to relax, hoping she could distract Leela from thoughts of home or Fry. Leela just sighed tiredly.
“Maybe tomorrow Amy, right now I’m going home,” she stated as she headed out of the park, leaving Amy standing alone, doubtful and seething.
Juliet smiled softly as she left the bar, ideas and plans forming in her mind as she walked. She had already figured out that Fry was pretty dim; he’d have to be to fall for her act so quickly when all the other guys had taken a lot of convincing. She’d also worked out that if she could work him the right way then he’d do whatever she told him too, and she’d tell him a lot. Fishing around in her back pocket she found the piece of paper with Fry’s address on and her smile turned into a smirk. The route to his apartment meant she would have to go past the park, which meant that she would have a chance to scout the area for hot prospects, which was good because she liked to be prepared. Sure Fry was meant to be the last one, but it couldn’t hurt to line up some other guys in case something went wrong, not that anything would go wrong. Smirking, Juliet practically skipped towards the park, it was gonna be a great day.
Leela trudged slowly out of the park, not bothering to think about Amy who she’d left at the park, nor did she think of Fry who she had hurt. As Leela shuffled to the exit of the park, she thought of Danni. Danni with hair that glistened in the moonlight, Danni whose arms were a base of comfort, Danni who had lit up Leela’s whole world with a single smile. Leela thought of Danni who she missed desperately. Leela thought of how hopeless it was now, now she was with Amy and had lost Fry, and was without the one woman she truly wanted. As she walked out of the park, Leela was lost in thought.
Amy watched Leela walk out of the park, and struggle to control her emotions.
“该死,” swore Amy, “Why do I always get left behind? Is it something I say or do I just repel people, 该!”
She gazed longingly at the park gate where Leela had just left, and swore again. She wasn’t sure way, but Amy had the feeling that she was losing Leela before she had really got her, and Amy didn’t like the feeling one bit. The more Amy thought about it, the more she could see that Leela’s reaction to Daniela was not the normal ‘I’ve just seen my ex’ reaction. Her mind went into overtime for the first time in her life as she started to plot how to win Leela away from Daniela before it was too late.
Juliet felt herself slam into something warm before she fell on her butt, and she swore loudly.
“God damn it! That’s the second time today I’ve bumped into someone!”
“It’s the second time today I’ve been bumped into,” came a decidedly harsh female voice. Juliet flinched slightly at the iciness in the voice before climbing to her feet.
“I am so sorry, I guess I wasn’t looking where I was going,” apologized Juliet quickly glancing up. When she saw who she was talking to she did a double take.
“My god, its Turanga Leela!” she gasped. Now it was Leela’s turn to be surprised.
“How do you know my name?” she demanded, not quite comfortable with someone she didn’t know knowing her name. Juliet’s face suddenly set in an expression twice as harsh as Leela’s tone of voice.
“You broke my best friend’s heart,” she stated, her voice cold and steely.
“What are you talking about?!”
“Daniela,” Juliet said simply, but it was enough to make Leela freeze in place.
“How do you know about that?” she whispered.
“Like I said, she’s my best friend bitch.”
Leela didn’t even get angry at the insult; she was too shocked to get upset.
“She told you about us? She promised that we wouldn’t tell anyone.”
“She didn’t tell me until afterwards, after I found her crying her heart out. Do you know what it’s like watching your best friend waste away and not know why? She wouldn’t tell me what was wrong, she was afraid I’d be disgusted with her, the way you were ashamed of her. You broke down her faith, and I didn’t know because she wouldn’t tell me! Damn it, it took me ages to find out what was wrong, and even longer to reassure her I would still be her friend!”
Leela watched Juliet’s tirade and felt a wave of guilt and remorse sweep her.
“I’m sorry,” she murmured. Juliet stopped ranting and looked at Leela with a look of pure disgust.
“You ought to be, though it’s not me you should apologise to, you didn’t break my heart.”
“Right, I have to talk to Danni and sort this out. Who are you anyway?”
“I’m Juliet Checkland.”
Juliet suddenly found herself back on the ground, trapped by a boot on her chest.
“You little cow!” shouted Leela, “You lecture me on breaking Danni’s heart when you intend to do the same to Fry!”
“WHAT! How do you know about Fry?”
“He’s my best friend!”
Juliet gripped Leela’s leg and twisted sharply, sending Leela crashing to the ground.
“Really, well then I’ll give you some advice. Keep the hell out of my way and maybe I’ll stop before he kills himself, or before he goes insane.”
Leela launched herself on top of Juliet, gripping the front of Juliet’s shirt and forcing her to look directly into Leela’s eye.
“You’ll stop before then, you’ll stop right now!”
“I don’t think so! I intend to keep hold of Fry for as long as possible!” screeched Juliet, grapping hold of Leela and forcing her to roll, leaving Juliet on top.
“I refuse to let you break his heart!” yelled Leela, continuing the roll to get back in the top position.
“Like you broke Danni’s!” roared Juliet, throwing Leela off of her, “I least I didn’t tell Fry that I love him, I haven’t promised him the world if he’ll give me a little more time!”
Juliet sprung to her feet and walked over to Leela on the floor, before taking hold of Leela’s arm and yanking her upright. Juliet moved her lips right next to Leela’s ear before whispering,
“If you even attempt to interfere with my plans, I’ll wipe the floor with you, you’re not the only one who knows how to fight.”
With that last warning, Juliet tossed Leela back on the ground and strode away, leaving Leela to wonder what the hell jus
